No he didn't.

He was asked this question:

"Has Amiga Inc changed CEO?"

And he replied:

"****As of this moment**** Bill McEwen is the CEO of Amiga ...", followed by a lengthy explanation why changing CEO's is/would be a Good Thing.

"... and if a new CEO was to be brought in, it would be because [we're so great]"

So if anything, this is a confirmation that McEwen no longer is CEO, even if he's still emplyed as that on paper until the end of the month or whatever.

Boy that's some messed up logic you have there.

Bill McEwen is still CEO. Fleecy says AT SOME POINT we'll take on a new CEO to free up Bill McEwen to do other work. He didn't say Bill wasn't CEO.

This sounds worrying though:

"[Gary Hare is] totally in sync with the current strategic direction of the company."

Would mean that nothing has changed and AmigaOS is still fscked by AInc. (Pretending for a moment that what they've currently got would be a "strategic direction".)

Boy, that's some reading difficulties you have there.

Try reading this sentence of mine again:

So if anything, this is a confirmation that McEwen no longer is CEO, even if he's still employed as that on paper until the end of the month or whatever.

But I don't blame you for not knowing who your CEO is at any given moment. I hardly know that from one week to another at the company I'm working for. :-) And that company isn't even owned by venture capitalists, like AInc is.

"[Gary Hare is] totally in sync with the current strategic direction of the company."

How could you ever append [Gary Hare] into that sentence? The use of [ ] is to
accentuate meaning when quoting out of direct context. Gary Hare was never
mentioned at all in the post.

In reply to Comment 9 (SlimJim):
Why do you ask?

The original said "Any CEO to be brought in". That's Gary Hare, mentioned in the original post or not, and he's already been brought in. I accentuated meaning because he was NOT mentioned.

Unless fleecy meant that Hare is on his way out as we speak... That was quick! ;-)

In reply to Comment 13 (SlimJim):
It would appear to stem from the business cards used by Mr. Hare, which allegedly proclaim him as "Amiga Inc CEO".

The question now has to be: are the claims regarding these cards true (i.e. did they claim Mr. Hare was CEO and how long has he been using them?). If the cards are reality, then bbrv can be accused of misinterpretation, and perhaps reading more into it than he has good reason to. However, he can't be accused of LYING on this issue, which is what Fleecy claims.

If Hare has been using the cards as is claimed, then Amiga Inc are the architects of their own problems again. "You can't keep secrets for ever" is a lesson they still haven't learned.

Is it on principle that you stop reading text after a comma, or was it my typo in "employed" that threw you off?

Let me write that last bit which you managed to miss again: EVEN IF HE'S STILL EMPLOYED AS THAT ON PAPER UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH OR WHATEVER.

You'll note that the evasive rubbish we've seen from out-of-the-loop AInc employees located abroad (Ray, fleecy) have all been careful to emphasize "currently", without any further specifics.

Ray, fleecy, please answer these questions that Bill Hoggett posed to you on Moo Bunny:

1 - Does Gary Hare work for Amiga Inc., and if so for how long?

2 - Has Gary Hare been operating with business cards that proclaim him as Amiga CEO, and if so for how long?

3 - if (2) is true, why?

Gary Hare is the new CEO. What's with the feigned controversy about this? And Bouma, just shut the fsck up for once, OK?

by the way I've just scrapped the pegasos II since it does not make sense to build it...
MorphOS is also being rewritten to run on Mac hardware instead of the few BPPC/CPPC cards out there.

with CEO's in the IT industry..

But what do I know, I just did hope that we wouldn't see no "Genesi", ..erh "Mai w/o April" like FUD again

The statement by Fleecy appears to be quite simple. Bill McEwan is still CEO.

It goes on to say that he has three jobs within Amiga Inc, and that at some point in the future a new CEO will be brought in, but that isn't now.

So all in all, I can only regard Bill Buck's comments as lies.

Remember - if Amiga Inc are doing so well as to require an extra person in management, then why wouldn't they want to at least put this fact on their website? There appears to be a serious lack of logic operating from various people posting in this thread - those who are taking Buck's word over somebody who works and is senior within Amiga Inc.

It is so childish. Why can't Genesi let their own products speak for themselves? Why do they have to continually spread lies and FUD about their competitors - perhaps to cover up their own problems and inadequate products?
