Alfred Faust writes on the barsnpipes-mailing list: "I've just started a attempt to port BarsnPipes to the MorphOS - Pegasos - system. It is near unbelievable how fast this system is. Compiling is done 20 - 30 times faster than on my 68040/40-AMIGA. The loading process of the 500 pics for BarsnPipes at startup is done in 1,5 seconds (!). Because porting to MorphOS is real a hard work, I must terminate the furtherdevelopment on the AMIGA-line for the moment. I don't know if I can port BarsnPipes completly to MorphOS ... but I try it."

Cool.. It's great to see this program getting some attention again, hope you will do an OS4 version after the MOS version has been released.

In reply to Comment 2 (mahen):
Depends a lot..

If program hits any hardware (timer, Serial port, keyboard/mouse) it'll have to be fixed. Also different Gui libraries (especially those 3.5-3.9 ectensions) have to go and making that part with MUI is a work. Also all timecritical (and most likely 68k assembler) code needs work.

No, but there soon will be.

"No, but there soon will be"

Correction: No, but there soon SHOULD be.

Nobody can use "will" in this community, the history have proven that
nothing is certain in this Amiga world. So even if there are good
signs who tend to prove that OS 4 "will" come soon, it's better to ue
"should" as anything can still happen.

Perhaps someone should port it to AROS.
An effort is being done to port AROS to the Pegasos (sp?)

AROS being a clone (AOS3.1) of AmigaOS .....

Killing two birds with one stone????

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush???

Not to distract from MorphOS as there is some back and forth between AROS and MorphOS (or has been) in terms of development..

Bars-N-Pipes is now open source??
