An update for the award winning (;-P) USB stack Poseidon is now online. It contains improvements and fixes on the mass storage class and two new support utilities for USB Radio devices and vendor specific MP3 players.
Download: Standard 68k version Pegasos/MOS PPC version Dear Poseidon users.

two months have passed and it was about time to release a quick update. It mainly contains improvements of the massstorage.class (and hopefully fixing the bugs I had introduced earlier) and the highway/subway drivers. Maybe this fixes a lot of MSD devices, so please try devices that didn't work before.

There are two new tools supplied.

DRadioTool was written on request within a few hours and is supposed to be a program to control a very cheap USB FM radio produced by D-Link or GemTek.

UproarTool is a management tool that allows me to upload to and download tracks from my MP3 player (which is a vendor specific Valencia MPX player). It might also work with several other MP3 players that are not MSD. I would be happy to get some feedback about the UproarTool. Thanks.

For course, this is not the end, just another step to supporting more and more stuff.

Best regards
Chris Hodges

Thank you Chris. Poseidon is great.
I don't know what are your devices priority for the future but I have a request:
I have purchased VHI studio and a Pencam VGA "3 in 1".
You reported me that the driver included with Poseidon was for older Pencam versions.
Would it be possible to have a driver for a chipset used commonly in webcams on the market today ?

I'm afraid I don't have the time to write a new and complicated webcam driver from scratch. However, UltraGelb is working on a driver for OV511 and other OmniVision cameras and the thing you've mentioned uses a "sunplus spca504a" which after some research is said to me similar to one of the OV9620 sensors. So you could give UltraGelb all the information you have about the cam (including a PsdDevlister output) and see, if he thinks he can make it work.

I still have problems with my M-Systems DiskOnKey on the pegasos.
Every time I try to copy a file from it, the copy begins, then stops
and the progressbar doesn't move anymore. Besides, the mounted disk is
readonly, so I can't delete enything from it. Even one time when
I tried to copy several files at once from the USB key to my RAM:, I
got trashed filenames, and still a stopped copy process.

Nothing appears in the log part of Trident at that time, so I don't
know how to get what's going on.

But at least the disk appears on the desktop. Didn't before.

Keep up the good work.

Does someone try to connect an Apple Ipod to an USB Amiga ?
And could we expect a driver to connect an USB WIFI board (look @ this link - sorry, it's in french http://www.internet-france-direct.com/index.html )

I don't think the USB connection for the new IPods has been released yet so they are Firewire only at this point. AIUI a USB connection kit should be available soon. I know the firewire version supports target disk mode so maybe it will be a massstorage device via USB. Could be interesting however I'm not sure if you can upload MP3 files to play in target disk mode or if iTunes (or the Windows software they supply) is required.

Normally yes Palms can be used through the spitfire2 software...
You should connect the palm using the rawusb.device

I only have Serial connection for my palm so I don't know
