DOSBox has been ported to MorphOS and Amiga68k. DOSBox is a DOS-emulator using SDL for easy portability to different platforms, DOSBox has already been ported to several different platforms, such as Windows, BeOS, Linux, Mac OS X...

DOSBox emulates a 286/386 realmode CPU, Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS, a SoundBlaster card for excellent sound compatibility with older games...
You can "re-live" the good old days with the help of DOSBox, it can run plenty of the old classics that don't run on your new computer !

Download it now here !

Excellent :)
I wonder if it's possible also to run early Windows? (3.11?) since that is basically a DOS program. although, who would want to... :)

Sounds great. I used to love playing games on my friend's IBM 286 PC. At the time of the 286/386 + DOS the PC had a pretty amazing shareware games community. The Commander Keen games from that period were probably the best (playability wise) games Id Software ever made.

Pretty funny to read this news and post this comment,
while testing if RealPC under MOL under Linux on a pegasos
has network acces, posting this with win98+IE,
and the speed is very usable :))

Ill try this program soon, indeed it would be fun if it
can run win3.11, just for the kick, on a MOS G3 it must
run fast :)

Bye,
Felix.

I don't think so. I think that would be great way to combine AmigaOS/MorphOS, Linux, MacoS and Windows on the same computer. ofcourse if you use mostly Windows PC is better, but if you need Windows applications for something which you can't do under Linux or morphOS then why not :) if it's fast enough for normal office use then it would be wery valuable :)

Thats such a bull, if you want people to get a pegasos,
you need some sort of backwards compatibility, they will
alwasy ask, can this machine run windows software, most
of them need it for they're work, so having this is great.
Mabe RealPC MOS native would be even faster ;)

Bye,
Felix. (This time under Linux with mozilla :))

Why don't you try to run DOSBox under Windows under RealPC under MOL under Linux?

;-)

Bochs on MOS at this point better then RealPC under MOL under Linux?
Noooo way, bochs doesn't even have network support yet, and besides
realPC has dynamic translation, much faster emulation, and also the
turbostart feature, starts win98 in 4 secs or such. :)

Bye,
Felix. (Under Linux/Mol with MacOS IE this time :)

I just tried out DOSBox on WinUAE. Opens up a nice
MS-DOS window on my Workbench :). Cool! :)

Not only the shareware stuff but games like X-Wing (fantastic game) run under DOS. Took a bit of fiddling with EMM386 though iirc (at least, if you wanted sound!)
