"I'll tell you this: in months Genesi has fulfilled more pledges within Phoenix than Amiga Inc did in years, and they have hired and written contracts with many developers and supplied them with cheap or even free machines and supported their initiatives.

In my book, they are showing good faith, and putting their money where their mouth is, and treating others with respect.

This was also true of QNX, and is today as well.

And many users seem to agree that Genesi has their heart in the right place, alomg with their wallet."

Well that's great if you follow the emotional, throw-your-support-behind-the-politically-correct-cult-of-personality.

I don't.

If I wanted an AmigaOS, I'd want the cleanest follow-on to what C= had released. That's OS3.1. And the cleanest follow-on is OS4. Yes, it's a pity that a series of bad companies are managing it, but if it appears, I feel that many sitting on the sidelines (in terms of developers) will flock to it.

With Morph-os being already released, I can't see a compelling reason to go there.

Huh? What I said was basically that GENESI has not just made promises - they've been following through! They have seeded development. They've put money where their mouth is. They have taken feedback and used it. They have treated people who have ideas and initiative with respect. They have worked willingly as partners in good faith, and with good attitudes. That has nothing to do with a cult of personality, or emotions (though it obviously elicits positive ones as it is witnessed).

I could take an awful lot of personality conflict from Genesi (not that I often do) as long as they actually show these type of actions and place value on results. They have the makings of a good company.
