The port of SpeakFreely, the Unix/Windows Voice-Over-IP program, is done, and this time around, it actually works! (fingers crossed!) SpeakFreely is a CLI program that will let you speak to anyone over the Internet (even Windows and Unix users!), conduct conference calls, and even encrypt your voice.

Requires 68020+FPU, ixemul 48.0, and a TCP/IP stack like Miami/Genesis

Fixed in this version:
-You can now see the other party's face, if they send you one
-Mike gain is working correctly: the audio is much clearer
-sflaunch, the program launcher, now works
-The chat prompt no longer leaps to the top of the window

You can download SpeakFreely for Amiga from my website.

Enjoy!

I wonder what would kids from this generation do with the computers my generation grew up with. No GUIs, no mouse, no sound, no graphics... you know, the stone age. ;)

GUIs are nice, but hardly mandatory. I usually write my own for stuff that doesn't have one.

True, i'm a shell buff myself, GUI's are practical but so is the CLI

Hello, this is Amiga network news, not M$DOSnn. Amiga always had GUI, why should someone want to have an onlyCLI program that serves for this purpose, to speak through internet? Hell we could have GUI 18 years before. I believe in 2003 it IS mandatory to have also a GUI especially for this kind of programs.

Yes, well... (Ahem...)

It's a port of a Un*x shell program. Making an AmigaOS GUI version would mean a lot of re-writing, so you'd get the software sometime around 2005. :-)

I'd also like to point out that I've included a rudimentary GUI in the form of a REXXREQTOOLS Arexx script.

Enjoy!

I think that program a frontend with something like GUI2CLI will not mean a huge work!
