This is the default look?
- Red (!!) window background
- OS 3.5 icons (ugly as hell)

The background looks quite ok though.

This is 80% done? Seriously?

Don't have any idea where that red color came from.

I suspect it was a user who tinkered with the settings to experiment.

Await screenshots before commenting please.

Pictures of TFT's don't take very well.

The window border looks like they have a grey MagicWB
pattern in them. Please, say this is not true.

Don't start complaining about colors you don't like because you can change them!!

If I see anymore comments like that here, then you are really a twit!

@Remco:

I hate it when ppl say that you can change and configure it afterwards. That is not the point. OS4 should have a brilliant look out of the box. That's all. Looks are almost everything in this world.

Not sure how you can be so specific with your comments from some fuzzy photo of a monitor - but read this over at amigaworld.net:

Before anyone thinks those red/brown window textures are part of the default UI look, they are not. Someone seems to have customized the looks a little.

One thing that can be cool is Hyperion try to get hold of old makeup Amiga OS screen shouts and transform them in to Amiga OS 4.0 skins...

Challenge the Otter OS's by present Amiga OS 4.0 as the otters.

And when will there be actual screenshots, showing the long awaited default look in detail?

Arrgh!!!

They arrange a show, actually the first show where OS4 is shown and then these lousy pics are all we get

Was it that hard to do some actual screengrabs and some videos from the show..?

Sorry, I'm just a little dissapointed by the quality of the pics from the show, hope you guys had a great time there :)

Well. there are no tour stops on Denmark, Finland, Norway, United Kingdom, Usa etc.. No-one from Hyperion, Eyetech nor AmigaInc attend etc...

IMHO you are expecting way too much of this tour.

Offcourse a smaller event like this doesn't have a PR budget (at least its a very small one:) but I did expect actual screengrabs as that costs nothing to do...
I was also hoping for some videos of the A4K booting OS4 but I understand if that wasn't possible as not everybody owns the stuff needed to make such videos.

Maybe some more pics will come up later?

I didn't expect presentations in all the countries you mentioned but a few simple screenshots would be nice (and Rogue promised some would arrive soon at a.org :)

It's still a work in progress and I only see this as a small teaser, that hints to a release date not too far away

Anyway I'm 100% certain that Denmark will have a presentation of OS4 but it might not be before the final release of OS4...

All in all a great day... OS4 finally shown in public, Danmark slog fjeldaberne i fodbold :-D og Jonson scorede hattrick for Sverige...Perfect!

Screengrabs directly from the show. I think that's rather unusual. At least
normally people just play with the demo machines but don't change the default
look make a screengrab, burn a CD take it home and publish it but rather just
make some digicam pictures. And I think also point.design doesn't have to make
such screengrabs. They already have enough time to spend to actually manage the
whole show (just read amiga.org: the show was organized by two people of
point.design only so not much time to do anything else than explaining the
system to the visitors).

I guess you can expect a little bit more in Augsburg next weekend though.
Because then there will also be some members of Hyperion there.

Nevertheless the most important (for most people?) has been announced at the
show (as it seems; see amiga.org). Planned release date of OS4: September 2003.

@z5,

Now that's the most sensible comment I've seen all day. I mean, since everybody on the planet has the same tastes in all, you'd think they be able to come up with that one look that will make everyone happy. I mean, those Hyperion dolts have got to be the most idiotic people on the planet if that can't produce that ONE look that will make everyone happy. I mean, it should be easy right? Since that's the look everyone loves. You'd think Microsoft or Apple would have released this look years ago, considering everyone on the planet wants the same look. I am just so disappointed with Hyperion concentrating more on being able to "change and configure" their look when we all know everyone on the planet likes the same "brilliant look" and therefore, does not need to be able to "change and configure" their system.

DAMN YOU HYPERION FOR GIVING ME THE POWER OF CHOICE!! DAMN YOU!!! ;op ;op ;op ;op
