It appears Amiga Inc never owned some of the hardware they were possessing. from http://www.murphyauctions.net/amiga.html

Amiga Inc is being sold by order of the property management. Some of the equipment listed has been claimed by vendors as of Wednesday, June 11, 2003. The equipment was only on the premises as a "loaner" to Amiga for development reasons. The following items have been removed from the sale:

IMAC PC
EPSON 740i printer
NOKIA MEDIA terminal
NETBOOK pda
SHARP pda
MY FRIEND pocket pc
AQUAPAD mobile internet device
VADEM CLIO pocket pc

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Well no shit. This is what happens when a landlord locks everyone out of premises.

I wondered if that mediaterminal could be *owned* by Amiga Inc.

Worst thing is, as a business, you have to explain to your business partners that their equipment that was on loan to you to experiment with/evaluate has been impounded. That can kill not just one deal but any hopes of future deals with folks these people network with.

Well. I'm sure those companied know by now allready that AmigaInc is just lots of talk and no delivery. Most of those projects were cancelled year or two ago, so they should have had plenty of time to send those materials back.

And how's that a Landlord's business? Rent not payed -> people kicked out. As easy as that.

Which in turn is what happens when people don't pay their rent. Repeatedly. Over long periods of time.

> I wondered if that mediaterminal could be *owned* by Amiga Inc.

I wondered about that too. It's not that unusual for a company to donate (as opposed to lend) equipment for development purposes, but that usually only applies to equipment which has been released to market, not to prototypes.

> Worst thing is, as a business, you have to explain to your business partners

Self inflicted. What's the bet they didn't actually bother to tell any of those companies their equipment was impounded?

> That can kill not just one deal but any hopes of future deals with folks
> these people network with.

And so it should be. A situation like this is a very bad sign about the company involved, and it's quite natural that this would be reflected in how that company is perceived by prospective business partners.

Mediaterminal WAS released to market in some Scandinavian countries.. Sales where bad and Nokia stopped production and Amiga could wawe goodbye to another project which had taken up precious time (and money).

As to Amiga Inc. they still didn't file for bankruptcy. Either a new investment was made (are there new offices for A Inc?) or they are on starving rations.

Anyone with a rough estimate of what income AmigaONE/AmigaOS4 sales will mean to the "company"? Are they already receiving it, or will they receive it when AmigaONE-s are out with AmigaOS4?

Uh, yeah I would like to know that, actually. So would my attorney.
But, also very importantly, what about the other 8 or 9 employees (not
counting officers Vince, Fleecy and Bill) who also didn't get their
money? We're talking about dedicated folks who uprooted their lives,
moving thousands of miles, because they either 'believed in the dream'
and/or Amiga offered them a hefty paycheck. Which they very soon
stopped getting.

Because I made the most noise, I sorta got famous but actually, others
took it in the shorts worse than me-but they happened to have other
resources on which they could rely so maybe they didn't have the near
brush with welfare that I did :-/

I will be going to the auction Tuesday, since I live close by, and it
will be interesting to see who shows up. Incidentally, the Imac was
McBill's own personal machine, so somehow he did manage to get that
back. Bummer, I was gonna try to buy it..

What should be read into this, is that Amiga had NO intention to
develop the 'Mac-ithlon' that Bernie had suggested was possible back
when we first got Amithlon to check out. I practically stood on my
head to convince Amiga to buy the rights to Amithlon and sell it for
some badly needed cash. But It didn't 'fit into our roadmap' and was
a 'deadend product' as Fleecy said :-(( Amithlon could have opened
many doors for Amiga, it would also have kept the entanglements of
dealing with H and P to a minimum, additionally providing a much
needed revenue boost and vehicle for the DE Player to be sold in a
unique and attractive way (to PC users). But what did I know, right?

Apparently, not enough to get out while I still had some money..

I just laugh when I read posts of the remaining AI defenders, about
Amiga's 'vision' and so on.. Oh wait, no I don't-It just makes me
more sure that I'll never see my settlement. These guys just can't
see the forest for the trees. If YOU were a potential investor, and
did a little due diligence on Amiga, Incorporated, would YOU give them
a million bucks? Be honest..

Bolton,

I see post after post by you, stretching the truth and adlibbing ad naseum. You mention us "other poor employees who are left" but do you realize how badly you are hurting us with the outright lies, innuendo, and twisted truths?

In post after post, you take a partial truth, bend it, twist it, and even add lies on top of it (like this story concerning your role in trying to get Amithlon on IMac or to get Amithlon at all - all lies, no such discussion even took place from or with you or in your presence or at all to my knowledge) and you have embellished the heck out of everything you have posted over the last couple of months.

Take, for example, your story of how you missed Christmas because you didn't get paid. Yes, the check on the 15th of December that year was late, but we did get it on that January 3rd. And you also forgot to mention all the extra bonuses you got during your employment. You forgot to mention that expensive mountain racing bike you bought and all the other toys and gadgets you bought with the extra money you got from Amiga. You forgot to mention how often you "stayed home to work from home and baby sit". How many jobs let you do that 2-3 times a week, week after week after week with little work product being turned in when you worked from home?

You know you had no such role or even discussion or voiced opinion involving Amithlon or the decision-making process and that the two incidents you try to put yourself into (getting Amithlon on the Imac and getting rights to distribute Amitlon) never even took place with you involved.

The most prominent position you ever took at Amiga (when you were at work and not home baby sitting the new baby or home sick - yes we all remember your phone call about being sick which came from the bike shop, how convenient huh?) was your constant rhetoric against and making fun of Bill Buck and MorphOS on an almost constant and daily basis, right up to your very last day at work. I hope that this is not a secret you have kept from them?

Sorry if this "spills the beans" on you. Maybe someone should do some "due dilligence" on Bolton as well? They may be surprised what they learn about "the real truth" and what you actually said about Bill Buck, Genesi, and MorphOS (and many others here who you now cowtow to) during your tenure at Amiga? Since you were mainly tasked, at various times, with AmigaOS projects, you had LOTS to say about those people didn't you? Have you told them your true opinion of them as stated back then?

If anyone has any questions or wishes to debate me, sorry, not here for that. Just wanted folks to know that Bolton is not being exactly truthful in his posts. While there has been "some" elements of truth in "some" of what he has posted, most has been embellishment, innuendo, or outright lies on top of a twisted rendition of a truth and he has severely broken his NDA which is still in effect. How trustworthy does that make him to another employer?

Written as a "fellow employee" who worked right next to Bolton, when he was at work.

Also, Gary is also one of, if not THE most honest, play-it-straight people at Amiga. If you don't believe what Gary says, then then you live in your own fantasy world and Gary is a threat to that false nirvana.

However, I guess it's easier to play the "pay him or shut up" card when there's something presented to you that you can't argue with 1:1 and can't prove otherwise.

Personally, I'd LOVE to see Gary and some of these people (including bolton) - who make accusations that Gary can debate and refute head-on - put in a room together, face-to-face. Then we'd see who's making up what.

I can see that, I guess that is why you are talking about all sorts of inside company information. Most all of which is an exaggeration or an outright lie in its own right. You know good and well that I talked to Fleecy about Amithlon and he told me it was a 'dead end product' and didn't fit our 'roadmap', and that I practically stood on my head to get us to buy it. I must have bugged Sanjay a hundred times about it..

And this is downright unprofessional to mention my bicycle, which you know I bought over a YEAR before the christmas check you mention, carefully stringing it together to look like I got the bike on January 3, 2002 versus September 2000 when I did buy it. You don't mention that I only ever got ONE bonus while at Amiga, and that I had to return the camera I bought with it because I couldn't afford to keep it due to further missed checks. And that when we got that bonus, it was less than half the months pay for which we were already owed. Some bonus..

You don't mention how I rode that 'expensive mountain racing bicycle' to work every day for 5 months in 2002 when we couldn't afford two cars. And yes, one of the THREE times I ever called in sick, I stopped at the bike shop right in the middle of my daily bicycle commute. I used their phone, turned around and went back home.

You also don't mention that I had to stay home with Rose due to Janet having to work to support us, you know this is true, and that my testing was exactly as productive as you funneling the work of those '3500 developers' to my desk. The half dozen or so whom I did work with were all polite and efficient. You must have been hiding the other 3,494 developers from the company on your own private T1 line to your cube only, totally separate from the company LAN.

You know I did not mention a lot of personal things, staying only with the facts about the late checks, missed checks, and bad management decisions. I didn't get on ANN talking about Bill's expensive toys (mountain bike, $500; Victory motorcycle $18,000) or a boat load of other stuff.

Genesi et. al. are well aware that my negative feelings towards them at that time, were due to the bad info fed me from YOU and others at Amiga. You exaggerate greatly here too, but I've told them this, and apologized for being wrong. Never seen you do that..

This whole diatribe smacks of a last ditch, desperate effort on the eve of Amiga's equipment being auctioned off, to discredit one of Amiga's critics in any way you can.
