Murphy Auctions Site:
"AMIGA INC IS NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION OF AMIGA AS A CORPORATE ENTITY" looks like some proper clarification at last.
No need to panic. :)

*I* didn't start this meaningless thread. When I start threads, at least I *try* to give it some meaning.
;-)

"Why don´t you just buy the products you want to buy?"

I have, thank you, and I like it! Looking forward to OS version 1.4 ... :-)

I *try* to stay away from the *stupid* companies, but sometimes it's hard, like my postings in this thread!

No need to panic. :)

Did some people actually think this auction was a result of Amiga, Inc. going out of business? AFAIK, everybody knew all along that it was simply the company's landlord auctioning off Amiga's belongings to recovery part of past rent that is owed. Really, you ought to avoid bringing this sad business up again, especially if you feel something positive toward the company.

I would NEVER say I wanted someone to go bankrupt, but maybe that's because I'm not that evil? I don't frelling CARE what happens to Amiga Inc any more. I care about the Amiga, and I see some very good ideas not happening because people are too busy arguing. Annoying, it is.

People are ALWAYS going on and on about "on schedule and rocking". Well, to quote Alkis in a different thread here this week:

The MOS JIT _worked_ in 2001
MOS JIT was NOT 100% bugfree for the 1.3 release, so won't be released until 1.4, because a JIT MUST be 100% bugfree

I see other people than Amiga Inc having a WEE spot of trouble defining just what is going on ;-)

(hint, if it MUST be 100% bugfree to be considered for a release, and it's not that in 2003, then it certainly wasn't working in 2001. unless the SPECS have changed, but then it's really not the same emulator...)

It is pathetic how you Amiga Inc worshipping bastards try to shift the blame on the landlord and auctioneers then have the nerve to ring up/e-mail the auctioneers with abuse and accusing them of destroying Amiga Inc, this Amiga community contains the lowest bunch of blind ignorant scum i have ever seen.

Why not go one step further and petrol bomb the auctioneers offices, homes, kill their families? you guys make me sick.

Even if you don't like me, Gary, Fleecy or Bill or <insert name of alternate vocal Amiga Inc. employee/contractor hated for reason X>, there are others working at or for Amiga who are just as important as the auctioneers and are working to make a living. You might want to think about that next time you cry foul at Amiga supporters.

Just a wee bit of hypocrasy there in my opinion. But carry on, we know that pointing it out won't change a thing.

What's all this ranting about. You all look like a bunch of football hooligans who can't control their primitive emotions about something as material as a niche computer platform !! My god, please all grow up !!
With all these fierce debats I don't even want to return to the Amiga platform.
This makes the Amiga/AtariST "war" look like real childsplay. This is sooo different then back in the A500/A1200 days, were we all enjoyed the Amiga, and were all living in harmony.
I'll just stick to WinUAE and get nostalgic again and leave you all in this mudpool, bah !!

Ray, your comment........

So how many people at Amiga have not the ability to get work somewhere else?
As much as it seems Amiga is a charity organization, it is not filed as such.

There is nothing honest about your comment Ray. Is Amiga Not Paying into Unemployeement?

All it does is expose your own disconnection with reality. Maybe it would be good to get people back intouch with reality. Amiga going out of business might just could do that.

Seems to me that to be working at amiga it'd probably be safer to do it as a part time job while holding a full time job that pays regularly.

I don't know about any of that.

But what I do know is the pity vote you present is a con that needs to be slapped straight. I'm plenty sure there have been larger layoffs and sudden unemployment by many many more than Amiga employes. And if people can go months without pay while working there..... Maybe Amiga is paying to much?

AInc never told public that there were APIs made by them that were being used by developers did they? (Really making the question here). So if they didn't it's only normal that people think they have done nothing. Add to that the fact that they announced the only thing the Amiga community still cared about (AmigaOS) dead, soon after they took control, and you can only understand people's bitching. Hell I even fear they take control of AmigaOS and make it some kind of layer just to use DE games/applications. Hopefully that won't happen and my A1 and OS4 will last long in my hands. But do they really care about it per se, or only by interest ?

Actually I had EXTENSIVE conversations with officials of the auction company and Tom thier landlord.

Regarding dot coms and liquidations and failures the auction company was quite knowledgable on the fate of many of the Seattle area's dot coms.

-----------------------
I am going to clarify some items that wee in the auction list.

the 30 or so Gateway systems with the 21 inch monitors WERE NOT Amiga's - they were from Network Solutions. The auction company had some other computer items at the sale.

I did purchase quite an extensive amount of "equipment" - 4 pallets worth and 51 boxes full. Including desktop Gateway systems used in Amiga's offices, several of their servers, scanners etc. MUCH miscellaneous stuff

Quite a bit of amiga equipment have stickers on them with a serial number and "DO NOT REMOVE". I'll be posting pictures later on this week.

I had the dubious honor of being the LAST (notwithstanding the clean up crew and their landlord) person to turn out the lights in Amiga's offices. (Upon my leaving this past Fri after taking 3 1/2 days packing everything up and getting it into a commercial truck.)

lower left you get to see the foosball table!

I am sorry, but I think this is Amiga Inc.'s just
desserts for all their swindles and deceptions and
nonsense and baseless accusations against MorphOS.
-----------------------
The foosball table was purchased for $150 by some college students who rented a house. (2 or 3 guys and one girl).

I was there when they dismanteled it.

I'd purchased 5 laptops - several in excellent condition - several with poor to bad plasma screens (but still operable with the employees (unamed) logon working - (WIndows XP Professional).

I did get a nice Samsung 15" flat screen monitor (there were approx 6-8 boxes that had 17" flat screens (none were available at the auction however).

I can unequivocably state that Amiga DID have Amiga software and Amiga computers in their offices.

Software - IBrowse - Art Effect, Cross DOS and some others I can't recall.

I did get Dragon Naturally Speaking software - still in the box with complete docs etc and a Comp USA sticker ($179.99) still on the box.)

The Amiga computers?

a A1000 with 256K ram pack installed - and 3 A1200's Magic Paks- 2 were out of the boxes of a total of 3 (one still in mint condition in the box). The other 2 were apart and in various pieces. Much was purchased directly from the landlord and were items NOT included in the auction.

quite a bit of revealing stuff - and contents of one filing cabinet of internal company documents, e-mails (fleecy etc).

Copy of the Ruksun contract (Indian company) to do the coding for Amiga DE.
Plus quite a bit more.

As posted somewhere McEwens house at

24403 256th Ave SE (Maply Valley WA 98038) with a mailing address of Ravensdale
is in foreclosure. With no mortgage paymentsbeing made for approx 10 months.

Lot size on the relatively modest house (1720 sq. ft) with a lot size of 220,849 sq ft.

The house was off of several graveled dirt roads well hidden (extremely well hidden) - I doubt even with the address anyone could find it.

I'll be posting pictures of the house later this week.

Pictures were taken Sat late afternoon.
