Pretty tough to sell Amiga Ones when Genesi will be there with Peg G4 @1ghz
MorphOS 1.4, and a Software Suite of Native Apps for MOS! What are you going to show UAE for Linux?

Oi, Anonymous Troll, may come as a bit of a suprise to you but there are some people out there who would actually prefer a motherboard or system which will be able to run OS4 when it comes out (and that's looking increasingly likely).

Yeah, can't wait to see <cough> Birdie shoot! Hell of a way to push that 'powerful' 1Ghz board...

>What are you going to show UAE for Linux?

At least it will be more stable than Morphos... :P

In reply to Comment 4 (:P):
I dont understand this silly "war" between Pegasos and A1 users.

A1 have os 4, ok that fine. Pegasos have Morphos thats fine to, but whichone of those can:
1) Start up Hippoplayer and play some Amiga modules.
2) Double click some WHD installed games and play Nitro, Alien Breed etc etc
3) Fire up Personal Paint.
4) Run Nexus 7

... you get the point I think.

Thats whats important. I think when both platforms are available with finished OS we will se which one has got the largest software suport and userbase. And that platform will win. You know Falcon absolutely smashed A1200 in almost every category but it failed miserabely back in 1992 or 1993.

I think you take computers to seriously.

Admin may remove this if this is trolling, (I dont know if it is)

The Pegasos crew might want to check that the cpu modules are seated properly, before powering it on.

Well, current MOS is at least as stable as AOS3.9, and the demonstrated UAE will probably be running OS3.9 so there will be no difference in stability.

Not really, otherwise one could say: "Pretty tough to sell a Pegasos 1Ghz when you can buy a PC at over 3Ghz". It's not all about Ghz you know... people will buy (and have bought) the A1 for running AmigaOS4.

Why would this thread have to degenerate into the AmigaOne/Pegasos battle?

It is simply an announcement by Mr. Hardware.

Is there an AmigaOne G3 (or G4) vs Pegasos G3 (or G4) in Linux PPC benchmarks anywhere?

In reply to Comment 12 (Anonymous):
There's been some, but nothing really conclusive.

I've been preparing a proper benchmark package, and gotten several owners of A1's and peggy's interested in comparing their machines.

Hey! Don't pay any attention to anonymous trolls, they're 99% likely to be PC users viewing this site from IE. Tells you a lot.

Either way, the pegasos is half the price of the AmigaOne. In both cases, you get what you pay for. :-)

I think Joe Rothman would be a pegasos reseller today if he were still around.

Please remember Joe in your prayers, as we all will. When we lost Amiga, also lost a lot of our buddies as well, including Jay Miner.

Unfortunately, us anonymous trolls (and no I'm not the one you were directly commenting too.) Don't mind freedom of speech or being anonymous. Doesn't necessarily mean we're bad. (At least we know how not to duplicate our posts.)

As for using IE. Sorry, my company forces me at work. However, I use an Amiga with Voyager and Aweb, both purchased, to view the web.

Anybody use their adapters? Do they work with KVMs?

Sorry not to post a flame. Kind of boring huh :)

I'd call it a sane comment, and I guess that in Amigaland that qualifies as trolling these days. :-(
