Amiga.org is interviewing different personalities in the Amiga arena. Last time it was Ben Hermans, and now they have interviewed Bill Buck and Raquel Velasco from Genesi. You can read the interview here.

I am amazed that in the comments section of Amiga.org that people mention that the interview is less "talkative" than the forum discussions. To me the interview came across with a far more professional image.

Hmmm... A question to you Bill, I hope you can answer it.

... everybody keeps asking 'will AmigaOS 4.0 be available for the Pegasos?' But, what about the other way around? I Have an AmigaOne, but no OS to run on it, that suits me. Will MorphOS 1.4 be available for AmigaOne? I am sure that just about every AmigaOne owner would be very intrested in running it, I would even spend some bucks for it!

DaveP MorphOS release 1.4....this might be an interesting idea.

Dave, would you administrate the FTP and provide sufficient download information? Would you establish a website. We could license you to do this. It would be free to download if we decided to do this.

Just a thought...

@DaveP

There was a thread on Amiga.org somewhere that mentions something about "flashing" the firmware would allow one to run MorphOS (as is) on the AmigaONE. I cannot remember the thread off-hand, but I will try to find out more information on this.

I thought his answers were very short and didn't give much information out. Especially this question & answer:

>Can you tell us about the current development of the Pegasos2 and MorphOS1.4?
>Everything is on schedule.

It would have been nice to hear what's done, what's in testing, what's left to do, any cool things that are done, any future plans, a funny story about some developer who stayed awake for 3 nights tracking a bug with a voltmeter, etc, etc...

He missed an opportunity to (a) give us all some more information on MorphOS, because actually nobody really knows a great deal about it, and (b) promote his products.

DaveP, we could do something with this along these lines...

http://uk.geocities.com/david260179/

We could do something like that..."MorphOS for A1"

Why the Dell not?!

Well that would be what is required to get people up and running, although it would also need a forum for support issues and before all of that working out a way of getting it working satisfactorily in order to populate the site with accurate information.

If the ISOs are intended to be downloaded from MorphZone would this cost Targhans bandwidth or do you have other ideas for where to host the images?

Well it all sounds pretty feasible then.

Well its not my idea, its your idea - I just expressed an interest in running MorphOS on A1-XE, you asked if Id be interested in helping administrate something to get that going.

Ill give it some more thought and come back to you.

Ok Ill help, if only to try and ensure better co-operation between the communities at this time.

However, my aim will be to ensure that AOS4 owners can dual boot successfully :-)

Well, I sure hope you can do this without requiring the user to replace UBoot with OpenFirmware in the flash ROM...

So long as it can be replaced back whats the problem? If the user is not prepared to perform either operation then its really up to them.

the best solution would be to make it boot through ppc/u-boot.
as i would like my system to have both AOS4 and MorphOS. That way I could feel apart
of both sides.
