Posted by NihilVor on 08-Jul-2003 21:35 GMT | In reply to Comment 4 (Sam Smith): After the first five minutes it sounds good enough. It's a speach so audio quality isn't that important--as long as it is at lest RA quality. |

Posted by anony on 09-Jul-2003 04:39 GMT | Hello
Perhaps someone can create a transcript of his speech.
I did not understand any words because of the poor audio
quality and language problem. |

Ben's speech : Comment 10 of 12 | ANN.lu |
Posted by corpse on 09-Jul-2003 12:14 GMT | In reply to Comment 9 (Zorro): He thanks those that have come to the show, then gives a short update about OS4 and details the current state of play (its almost finished, its really just moving it all to PPC for the cyberstorm release, with some hardware banging stuff needing to be re-done for the the amigaOne release).
Interesting parts:
- He talks to some OS4 beta testers at the start
- He goes over the chipset banging stuff and how that it isn't as bad a many thought, using the Draco as an example.
- He talks about execSG coming a long way, i.e. running a complete os3.9 system under emulation and that they've re-implemented 95%(?) of the kickstart.
- He talks about how os4 has become what was spec'ed out for os4.2.
The best parts:
- He talks about how no one wanted to touch the dos.library(?)
- He talks about how all the nay sayers have been their greatest motivation and that he's going to send them all thankyou cards when its finished :) |
