superbundle recompiled for MOS, or just
simply m68k versions? |

Don't know, don't care. MOS runs m68k applications very fast, without JIT. Remembering the pre-JIT UAE and comparing it to jit-UAE (and noticing the massive difference), I'm really curious what JIT will do to MorphOS: will the 600 MHz Pegasos overtake a fast UAE PC at running m68k applications?
As to the super bundle, I believe the purpose is to collect software suitable for MorphOS rather than directing users to the messy mix of software on Aminet. Personally, I would prefer if an effort was undetrtaken to clean up Aminet, e.g. add a column that signals compatibility and an option to see only software for a certain softare. Ratings would also be very welcome. Much like cnet downloads, thinking about it. In the current form, Aminet is not very useful. |

1. Nearly all of the items have been recompiled for MorphOS. I'm sure there are a few 68k legacy apps, but I think it would only be a scant few.
2. Ooh, it's packaging. Sure, packaging isn't the end product, but it shows commitment. New icons, nice CD's, a interesting cover design. These are the details. Showing the packaging is simply a way of saying to the public that a release is immenant.
3. I am not at liberty to say what will be included, but I will say that everytime I thought the included software was locked up -- more software would be included.
I am very excited that I got to play my small part in the SuperBundle, and I am very proud of the way everyone pitched in. What's more, the SuperBundle may continue to grow even after it's release. Remember, the community's involvement will determine the SuperBundle's evolvement! |

Posted by Anonymous on 20-Jul-2003 08:39 GMT | In reply to Comment 8 (Targhan): all authors of software on the superbundle being paid?
any GPL software on the superbundle available as source
code?
obeying the NOCD requests of Aminet software?
these are questions still unanswered |

Not only may it, it will grow further after AmiWest, since there is software aimed to be included which didn't make it in time for the show. |
