Niiiiice! (but).

http://www.aros.org/pictures/screenshots/20030808/fonts.png claims to have all fonts antialized, but the text on the 'tabs' of the 'adjust background' window, is not antialized :-)

Another small thing, why aint buttons alike, i mean. eg. the Cancel button in the 'Font Preferences' is not the same as the Cancel button in the 'Select Font' window.

And (yeah i know, i should stop complaining, and join the effort).
is the button graphics limited to 8bit?.

Other than that, Very nice update, and the screenshots do look nice.

[different button images]

It's just that we haven't 'unified' the GUI completely yet. There's still a lot of work in that area to be done.

Great work all!

Small question, does AROS have a native dev suit yet? (GCC + includes?)

Might be cool to play arround with this baby ;)

Oh, how about a hosted version for LinuxPPC? ;)

Cheers

Zune looks cool. And for 10 years we were stuck with dull "OS3" look, now suddenly you have antialiased fonts and gradiens everywhere :-)

They are not out of the legacy look just yet look at the borders they are the same old ugly one we are all used to look at, Zune is alot better now.

In reply to Comment 3 (Lasse Bodilsen):
Hi Lasse,

Using a non-antialised font in the antialiased font screenshot ? Bah, blame Tjodden, he forgot to change the Title font in his prefs :)

Different images mostly because different components, one is ASL, other is Zune. Zune stuff is newer and hopefully will replace the ASL images. Maybe one day even the ASL font requester will be gone. But if it was just me, I would wave goodbye to the button images and send them to neverland (should make this configurable :)

The button graphics in Zune use datatypes, thus 24 bits support.

The status update was pretty fast to write, I'm improving. Hopefully I didn't have to take screenshots, and lazily reused those made by Adam some time ago. The hardest part is getting started.

You have probably reached this page in error.

If you were attempting to reach a site that's domain ends in .sourceforge.net, it is likely that your browser is not HTTP/1.1 compliant. This may be because you're running a very old version of MSIE or Netscape.

1/ This is the first update of AROS that has not worked on Linux for me, I have submitted a bug report ( actually a reply to someone else reporting a similar problem ).

2/ The forums link comes back with php errors.

3/ The screenshots look great.

1. Perhaps it's just this nightly. Try the next one, or the previous one. If they don't work either, try the latest snapshot from the 27th. In any case, let us know how it goes. :-)

By the way...

For the people who knows nothing about Megatokyo.

Megatokyo is made by Fred "Piro" Gallagher (the artist) aided by Rodney "Largo" Caston (the incarnation of second main character), Sarah "Seraphim" (who plays the role of "his" wise conscience) & sometimes by Shirt Guy DOM.

The image of Miho Toyha (the 3v1l Cut3 0n3) is based upon a B/W sketch you can found on Fred Gallagher's fredart studio site at:

http://www.fredart.com/fredart/artpage.php3?src=&ft=sk&fn=105

And it was re-arranged by the !brava! sublime artist Merekat (Kristen Perry) who colured it and inserted whole drawing into a 3D environment.

The results are those which you all appreciated...

Fabulous!!!
