Jesus I'm dying for TCPIP on this biotch! Wonder if arachne for DOS would compile with a little effort to tide over? Has integrated PPP and TCPIP, would just need access to a serial port, and possibly VESA.

Er, um, that would be if Arachne was opensource....

Will this updated version of AROS be released as an self-bootable
CD (for x86s)?

Would be cool to check out the new fonts support and that Deluxe
Paint clone.

I think these screen shots look excellent.

Does Zune include a facilty for creating public screens, as in MUI ?

Is there an equivalent of the ASL screens requester? I notice everything, even the paint program, seems to be running on the Workbench screen.

Its actually quite annoying in AROS at the moment that all the familiar prefs mechanisms arent there. You can do things like set the background gradient, but only through Zune at the moment. Im not a fan of totally integrated prefs a-la WB1.x.

Lot of the contributions do not work on the latest linux hosted version, this is probably as Adam pointed out, because its a less stable nightly build so be more careful than I about what you upgrade to!

But what does work, is phenomenal, useful and the result of hard work. Well done guys.

From what I've been viewing, there was alot of delays and false starts to the porting, but it seems that Michal S. has overcome the last hurdle and is now actually banging away at it. I just hope he doesn't have to redo all this work he is putting into it when the Peg2 is released.

I wonder if there is something that can be done to make a bridge between AROS and Linux in regards to using TCP/IP and such.On the hosted version of course. Something that wouldn't take up alot of time to do but provide some relief...

AFAIK, there's work in progress on that very idea :-)

But I'm more interest in the Native version, so I don't know much about the Hosted one.

I agree with you, but fortunatelly, The prefs programs are comming... but right now it's better to have some control (via Zune) thna no control :-)
