Posted by Huh? on 19-Aug-2003 02:57 GMT | Rich, does this mean Genesi has won at court so that AI has to port "AmigaDE" to the Pegasos now? |

Posted by Alex Klauke on 19-Aug-2003 03:37 GMT | What has definitely changed is that one now gets only 404 errors on every link at
the german language section. It did definitely work sometime before. ;-)
What else had changed just escapes me, I do not see it.

Posted by Alex Klauke on 19-Aug-2003 03:51 GMT | In reply to Comment 2 (Hagge): Oh, it does say "Amiga OS 3.x" is supported through emulation..., at least ;-)
It would be a good sign when and if Genesi and AmigaInc. would have joined
into an agreement over the AmigaDE. Until that is official, I doubt there is
one. But it would not be any good for Genesi if Amiga had to provide the DE just
because of a court ruling and not because they really want it. (which G. may
expect, but no evidence is available)
But what do I know, just an AmigaOne owner and possible PegII customer...
Ciao, Alex |

Posted by Jools on 19-Aug-2003 06:44 GMT | One suggestion to improve the genesi sites: there are various little thumbnail pictures scattered around. a few on the genesi site and quite a few more on the pegasosppc.com. they are not however, clickable, and having the larger versions would be nice. for example on the links pages to the extra software downloadable for morphos. |

Posted by catohagen on 19-Aug-2003 09:23 GMT | just some tip, the text "Together Pegasos and MorphOS provide a singularly powerful solution for both personal and professional applications!" should maybe be linux
instead of morphos ?
morphos doesnt have a decent browser yet, i have to use an emulated amiga
browser to stay online a few hours without crashing...
Maybe after oGALAXYo is done with his mui version of atlantis ? |

2.6-test3 is great for desktop use IMHO, although you'll need XF4.3(if you're using XF as your xserver) to make much use of it :). |

But that was light years ago! :-)
No, I agree that a more competent browser, as well as an Office suite, is needed in order to make the OS usable by modern standards. The old Amiga versions are cool for nostalgic reasons (for us Amigans), but people from the outside would not walk anywhere close to those. But AFAIR, both is in the works since some time. |

market. |
|
Website "Genesi.lu" reworked : Comment 23 of 43 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Johan Rönnblom on 19-Aug-2003 14:34 GMT | It's not stable. I don't think I had any crashes with the pages I
access a lot, but "strange" pages sometimes give problems (yes, even
with MOS 1.4 version). I don't think I've had it take down the entire
system on MOS. But if the browser is dead and refuses to restart, it's
still pretty annoying. |

real news, but some screenshots is? Come on, we've seen OS4
screenshots before. I don't complain that we get to see more stages in
the development, but claiming that this would somehow be "real news"
compared to this news item really shows your bias, imo.. :-) |
