A lot of optimization and changes has been done to "boost" it :

- use asyncio.library
- native AHI sound driver (device or library)
- native CyberGraphX driver (can use overlay, direct vmem acces or WPA).
- native timing routine
- optimized and fixed YUV -> RGB routine
- optimized and fixed (when possible) OSD routine
- Patched input routine
- ...

So download and enjoy !

Someone make sure to send the diffs back to the mplayer people.

It will be a nice way of making sure new versions work to and then morphos might end up on the supported systems list aswell.

Or just a simple 68k version would be enough:)

Hmmm, wasn't Frogger the official player for MOS ? Laslo may feel a bit betrayed... no ?

As I see MPlayer is not bundled with MorphOS.

In reply to Comment 14 (Elwood):
No, at one point it was supposed to be bundled, but the author changed his mind and wants to keep it shareware instead .. anyway, FroggerNG plays alot of clips that MPlayer doesn't, so they complement eachother nicely imo...

BTW, who's Laslo? Last I checked the authors name was Sebastian... ;)

Very impressive indeed. i use mPlayer myself under linux. and simply love this player. so having it for Mos, is "a very good thing(tm)".

it surely got me a little more interested in the product now :-)

I tried a 68k compile but it uses some funky MorphOS Intuition extensions. I couldn't be bothered to work around this tonight but I might give it another go.

I tried it. It rocks. The installer works and looks great. It plays DIVX right oout of the archive, no fuss no muss. In fact it loads the DIVX movies I had really fast. I have a Win98 machine at 700 MHz that takes many seconds to start a DIVX. Mplayer on MorphOS on Pegasos w. G3 loads them much faster than any system I personally have tried.

It plays mPegs too. It seems totally stable with good picture and so on. It doesn't have a slider bar like Frogger that I can see, so you can't shuttle the movie back and forth though. I will probably still register Frogger, and see which one becomes my main player. This is a big, big advance for MorphOS. I really bet this loads up a DIVX as fast as any other PC out there to include the latest systems. And plays it just as nice too!

Hello, humm strange.

Did you select the vob in te asl requester ?

If yes, arg, no !

In order to play DVD, MPlayer have to make some magic stuff by
speaking directly with the DVD drive. You may launch MPlayer like that
MPlayer DVD_TITLE=1
if your DVD drive is not on ide.device unit 1.
add DVD_DEVICE=toto.device:x (where x is the unit).

You can also have a look into the information on the icon.

[Read the Funny Manual]

If still no luck contact me !

Bye
