"My My, you are jumpy today Ben!!!"

You can't blame him really, can you Matt? After all, such things said on a place as free as ANN, sometimes lead to more negative comments. Then again, those types don't need an excuse to say something negative. :)

Because he brought the issue up in the first place. Now that he's been asked a pertinent and intelligent question, why shouldn't he answer?

> Given all facts, it's some atupid questions!

Given which facts? Why would these facts make that question a stupid one?

Unfortunately for me he wasn't technical or specific enough. He starts out by mentioning incompatibilities, but no specifics on what would not run on the new system.

I didn't find anything remotely new or interesting. We already knew AOS4 would use virtual addressing. I would like some NEW information about AOS4 please!

I was very dissapointed.

Well, I'm sure he's very sorry Strobe! How dare he disappoint you?

For me, the article was just technical enough - if you want more information, have you tried e-mailing one of the OS4 team? Or would you rather sit and bitch on ANN?

@Damocles
>> No Damocles, it is the truth. They have made no such statement.
> No statements are needed, do a patent search and you will it goes to Amiga LLC and not Amiga Inc.
This is not my point. I am talking about their motivation.

>> If you go and read the thread that Fabio is moaning about you would see that
>> I point out it is up to Amiga Inc to take anything to court and see if those
>> claims stand up.
> It's not their IP. They may have licensed it from Amiga LLC, but they (Amiga Inc) do not own it. If anyone is going to take court, it would be
> GateWay/Amiga LLC since ownership would be in question and that is their vital interest to protect their rights reguarding all patents they
> currently own.
Tell that to the lawyers, not me. It is not part of my argument.

>> Nice try and diversion tactics.
>That's DaveP's job, not mine.
Well you aren't that good at it so for the best. Why bring in a third party?

>> I have no deadlines - what are you talking about? Surely I am just an
>> anonymizer proxy for Ray Akey?
> No, I wouldn't insult the man by thinking that. I orginally thought you were some OS4 Dev wanker,
Ah, can't keep the personal out of your comments can you.

> but I think I was wrong, your just a gutless FUDmeister.
OK, let me explain something to you. Childish taunts tend only to work for children
in the schoolyard.

> Dammy
One nick I will now remember and expect nothing useful to come from just flamebait.

@NSallin

If you were not such a knucklehead out for a fight I might not currently have my back
up so far.

Your is one possible, although improbable explanation, mine is another possible and far
more probable explanation.

Oh dear, Ian! Give it a rest, for $(DEITY)'s sake! All you are saying is that here it's allowed to applaud AInc for whatever minimal reason, but it's not allowed to do constructive criticism.

Grow up, dude, accept others can have a different opinion than yours.

For the record, I share the feeling with the guy you are replying to: the article was far from technical, and rather short.

In reply to Comment 60 (Fabio Alemagna):
@Fabio

The article was pitched correctly for the audience. Some people are going to
read it and get so far before their stomach for such details full, some are going
to get to the end and think "hmm I think I understood that" and some are going
to get to the end and have a whole bunch of questions - which they will put constructively
and yet others will get to the end, want more details, and not have the personal
skills to put them properly and instead moan about it being "not technical" and "too
short".

This is the same in every presentation and article.

Finally, if you read the thread on AmigaWorld.net again, you will see further
confirmation of what I posted above ( based solely on the article and questions and responses
over time on AmigaWorld.net ) and again that it is a transitionary design.

No need to get so damn angry about things just because when someone paints
an overly and innaccurate negative picture they are subsequently picked up on
what seems originally to be their misunderstanding.

You so desperately want the negative stuff to be true you start to bully those
that might actually cause others to walk away without that negative spin. Then you have
the cheek to whinge about a bitchslapping on AmigaWorld.net.

You are the one that needs to grow up here I'm afraid. You are not a pretty sight
at the moment - what on earth have these people done to you that deserves
such a warped view?

Probably from reading too much from anonymous fan boy fantasies that have no connection to reality. Just a hunch, mind you.
