An impressive feature list, but is it font sensitive?
IMHO this is absolutely essential, I hate topaz8 :)

at this point it respects the fonsize of the used font.
If the text does not fit, it will not be shown.
In one of the next releases the font will be resized if it does not match,
or the gadget will be resize, depends on the set mode..

I`m open for suggestions and feature requests :)

I've never tried this Workbench improvement before - think I'll download and give it a go. I'll let you know what I think of it :)

In reply to Comment 4 (Brian Hoskins):
if a program does not make use of NewGui you won`t see anything.
you should try this out http://benderirc.de/xsvcd.html
the new release of VCDSaveGUI uses NEwGUI, not all kinds of gadgets,
but take a look at the cycle gadget ( Press { CTRL +} RMB )

Looks good! I have quite a few projects screaming for a gui, but I'm too lazy to tackle ReAction or MUI.
Questions for the programmer: Would you consider it easier to create a gui with NewGui compared with e.g. ReAction?
I'd also like to migrate my projects to AOS4 when the time comes. Any plans for making an OS4 version of the library?

Sounded good from the feature list but the actual looks a bit unpolished. Obviously it is still in development but it needs more work before I would consider it if I were a developer.

Theres should be no problem to use it under OS4 , if that will ever come ;) .
I can`t say if it`s easier with ReAction, because i never seen ReAction, or noticed it to be ReAction.

You can take a look at the example sourcecodes and decide it for yourself.
I made it because i was tired of using guienv as a gadtools extention and
because i wanted some things os3.1 needed boopsi for, like gfx in gadgets aso.
gfx handling for gadgets is standard in NewGUI , so you don`t really need to think about it,

If enough people want to useit, newgui will go open source, with the right team it could be really nice (er) :)

the repositioning.. but your right, it`s not finished yet and will never be,
because new gadget kinds ware waiting every day ;)

Oki, thanks for the answer :) I've been looking at the examples and altough it looks powerful I'd hoped for something like EasyGUI for AmigaE (now there was an easy to use GUI builder).

"Theres should be no problem to use it under OS4 , if that will ever come ;)"

Actually what I was wondering about was if a native OS4 version would be available. It kinda sux having a PPC application using a 68k library.
As for the availability of OS4, I'm sure it'll be released "when it's done" (tm) ;)

With regards to an easy to use gui builder I just got a tip about FoxGui. I've dl'ed it from aminet and played around with it a bit. This is how a gui builder should be. It's really easy to code a gui with it, and that leaves more time for coding the application. It's a shame though that the results look dated compared to MUI or Reaction (and NewGUI of course ;)
