Another company to make AmigaOne mini-itx code-named 'Thunderbird',
http://www.lippert-at.com/miniitx.html

Replace NB with Marvell 970/G5.

Another MiniITX site that fails to grasp the importance of
PPC.

Not only is the PowerPC more powerful at lower clock speeds
than the current mini-ITX CPU offerings, but it doesnt
require a fan or much cooling at all. things that the others
abysmally fails at. you either get an under powered option
(C3 Via CPU) or you get power, with noise and heat (PIII/PIVm
or higher end C3)

...with all this race into MiniITX and small cases etc, the main
joy and REASON of these boards appears to be disintegrating
as the 'bling bling' masses want these to play DOOM3 on etc.

quiet, small, cool boxes. A1-Lite delivers with more power
than the previous king..the EPIA ME6000

Just to add some new chipsets and connectors to that design and it will be an Amiga with very impressive specifications!

It hardly bests the EPIA 6000 since that is a real shipping product.

You have to compare future offerings of EPIA against this future offering of
Eyetech.

Assuming this see's the light of day, and isn't one of the long line of eyetech cancelled products, then, assuming a lot of things, it might be competitive, but wait, it won't be, because the price will be in the stratosphere.

Those I can think of right now:
AmigaOne 1200
AmigaOne 4000
Teron CX ("AmigaOne SE")

Not a long line, but they sure were hyped as flagship products by Eyetech (only to be cancelled by the real producers under Eyetech's nose, while Eyetech were babbling about their great future and the m4d sk1llz at the Eyetech hardware department...).

Next up for cancellation (if it hasn't happened already): Teron PX ("AmigaOne XE"). It's basically a Teron CX, it was long obsolete when it was first released, it's not of "consumer grade" quality (it was never meant to), they have the same problems as Genesi to sell ArticiaS-based boards in numbers with G4 CPUs (thus the funny extra "quality assurance testing" lies by a distributor, Eyetech) and frankly, who the hell would want such ancient hardware for their personal desktop computing in 2003? Before the zealot campists freak out, I'll say that the same goes for the Pegasos 1 (though it's got the micro-ATX advantage over the Teron CX/PX).

I don't see why the vaguely announced mini-ITX Teron would/should be produced at all. The ArticiaS is ancient dysfunctional garbage, and needs to get a successor yesterday! 133 MHz FSB on a sunny day if you're prepared to accept some data corruption, plus similarly random support for the G4 PPC. It's no longer 1998 dammit.

I'd buy one of these if it didn't cost more than $200 USD. (The 933mhz version.) w/OS4

Excuse me, but in what way was the SE cancelled? A _lot_ of people bought them because they were cheaper, but since it lacks onboard sound codec and has a soldered on CPU it is at a disadvantage, so I don't imagine they're selling a lot at the moment. It's not called "cancelled" if a product reaches the market and later gets replaced by a better board (the Lite was supposed to be the new SE, but instead will have a replaceable CPU). It's called "obsoleted".

Thank you for getting your facts straight.
