So this is 68k benchmark for system friendly OS’s?

Memory write read performance?
Disk read and write performance?
JIT emulation/68k cpu speed test?
Memory allocation and memory free calls,
With small and large memory blocks?
Drawing rectangles, lines, circles, and blits,
Measure speed of OpenGL gfx card related?
Window resize, window move,

How do you calculate the numbers?

Do you have fixed time frame for the intervals,
or do you check the time it takes to execute 10000 calls or so,

I think you should use fixed time frame lets say 3 min per task,

You really should contact some demo group and ask for co-operation
and maybe we could get nice 3D benchmark also :)

> Is there an AROS version?

I know i should do one, and i also should do a WOS/PUP version.

I think i will start a new benchmark-tool from scratch if i
got new hardware and newer OS. The dynamic prinzip is totaly
missed in the current build and adding such functionality takes
more time than starting new some day. Means people can add their
own benchmarks trough a API, like share-libs, etc...

But thats future ;)

Some one need to recompile the program for AmigaOS4.0 so we get PPC benchmark as well,

Congrats, thought you'd never finish AmigaMARK ;-)

I'll give the new Version a try, hopefully the crashes of the last beta are gone.

If you did things right, then it should be just a matter of recompile for AROS. If you've got an i386-elf devtool chain, download the SDK from http://www.aros.org/download.php and install it.

Not necessarily, as you may notice I said you need an i386-elf devtool chain, which you could have installed on your machine.

> WTH there is no m68k-cross compiler??

Well, no one did it :-) You could just download gcc sources, configure them for building a linux-i386 target, and then compile and install them. Then, you would need to download the SDK and install it, taking care of providing the right compiler path to it, together with all the other tools it asks for.

Compiling gcc is however going to take quite some time, I'm afraid...

BTW; I haven't been able to get your program running on my UAE setup. It just freezes, sometimes at startup, some other times after pressing one of the buttons in the main window.

Unfortunately it doesn't work at all, it fails silently on startup. Ever heard of adding *error messages* to your software so the user can know *why* your software is doing nothing?

Do you have used the setup-script or have you installed by hand?
You _must_ use the installer to make it work.

use snoopdos and see where is fails.

In reply to Comment 21 (Rupert Hausberger):
Used the setup script.

It's missing some fonts.

The point is that the user shouldn't have to use SnoopDOS if there were better error messages...
