It would save a lot of trouble if all the Amiga users in the world moved to the same island.

Nice! And you can even re-use the same flyer of latest Oase, changing the last year digit only!
If this ain't a sort of dèjà-vu, what else could it be?! ;-)

If people like Jens Schöfeld can goto this show then why the hell werent they at BAS? to me it wasnt so much the lack of attendance that let the show down, it was the lack of key amiga people, just like Jens Schöfeld. Perhaps more people would of turned out to the show if there were more key amiga personalities present....

Ok so im in a bad mood, shoot me :-)

As to Jens, don't expect to see him at any event that promotes MorphOS (personal feud with Genesi). As to other VIPs, let's be fair, the Benelux is a tiny Amiga market and it was forseeable that the number of visitors would be be smallish (hmm, Austria is even worse, that argument may not hold water ;-) There should be an event at a Ryanair target ariport like London Standsted, that would get us Europeans together for 15 EUR per head.

hehe

thought actually I disagree...

I personally thought the location for BAS was very central thus making it accessible by lots of people from lots of countries.... or did my A level in Geography not teach me anything.... :-)

In reply to Comment 8 (Ryu):
Geographically, Rotterdam is a lot closer to Aachen than Graz, but to tell you the truth, I was totally burned out after I did the latest re-works to the C-One boards and needed a break.

As for Pegasos or MorphOS - I don't have a problem with shows promoting that, they're both fine products. It's just that they lack the Amiga spirit, so I'm staying with what's fun and what's making money. Sooner or later people will discover the same, so I'm confident that the "alternative Amiga" episode in this community is over pretty soon.

The anonymous coward in comment 7 does not know anything. Looks like he's the same spreading fud about my girlfriend at BAS. If people like that belong to the MOS community, it's not a loss for me not belonging to it.

I can assure you that is not the case. I have no idea who your girlfriend is or what BAS means not would I ever comment if I knew, that's none of my business.

> If people like that

People like what? Gosh, some people react to an anonymous posting like a bull to a red flag (ironically, in that you are very similar to bbrv). Given your comment, I don't think I was very wrong with suggesting that no love is lost between you and Genesi.

There is no reason to insult me. I kept the netiquette, and I intend to continue like that.

The only problem I have with anonymous postings is that I don't know how to move certain discussions to private mode. Actually, the term "anonymous coward" shall not valuate your being anonymous other than "I don't appreciate it". It's a frequently used term that every Slashdot reader knows.

Following your IPs, I have a hard time judging if you're German, as the addresses suggest. T-IPconnect addresses usually don't change, and Telekom customers usually get T-dialin IPs. It's either I don't have enough information about the T-Online structure, or you're using a good anonymizing service, which is even more interesting. Why all this effort?

I have just talked to Jürgen and Silke Schober from Point Design on the phone to discuss some details. They organize the OASE show, and I'm really looking forward to it. Not only to the show, also to the after-hours :-)

What about this proof: Bratwurst, Bohlen, Schröder, Bier? You have a bit of a paranoid streak ;-) I get a new IP with each dial-in. That's normal with USB modems that power down with the computer, I guess.

I would like to visit but
OASE is too far away for me,

the show I am interested in is the similarly named

WOASE (World Of Amiga South East (South East of England)),

last year it was at the end of October,

Does anyone have any info on WOASE?

I tried google which found a lot of stuff but nothing telling me
if and when WOASE 2003 is happening.

last year Eyetech announced the Earlybird at WOASE,

so I am hoping to see OS4 on A1 there,
last year they had 68k OS4 on A4000 there,

possibly WOASE happens on the day the clocks go back so there
is an extra hour of time, not sure though,
