Dont you hate it when authors dont give a description of their program in their submissions..... pasting from the .doc file..

Documentation for Niva - audiovisual toy synthesizer for Amiga

1. Description

Niva is a simple program which lets you interactively create a looping sound,
by synthesizing many sinus waves of different frequencies and variable
volume. The sound is displayed as a map of volumes for each timestep and
frequency. Niva lets you "draw" the sound with the mouse, transform it with
a random effect, and save the sample as a raw file.

2. System requirements

Kickstart 2 or above
68020 processor or above

This seems to be purely a retro program. It won't run on a graphics card or with AHI.

In reply to Comment 3 (Don Cox):
... which makes it useless on NG machines :(((

Well now they have something to do with the next version of this tool.

In reply to Comment 4 (hooligan/dcs):
yea. it is quite retro. and yea, we have a new fly version planned, it will
(if it ever surfaces, these are just ideas so far) use SDL, and through that
CGX and AHI, and it will be a multiplatform release. Anyway, give niva a try, its wikkid and fun! =)

How does this compare to Hyperscore from MIT?

To try it, I would have to set up an old Amiga specially. None of my Amigas is set up to use the AGA display or Paula nowadays.

There should be a team scene compo where people use 3 Amigas for a live performance. Two machines would use this and a third, well something else.. then maybe mix the 2 niva graphics with some other graphic elements for "video fx".

If there are any parties, anyway.
