Don't you mean "is coming soon"?
Yes, I see that they have a spec and an "order here" button, but I do not see a product.

Nice pricing, though. Are these considered "beta" or "final product"? Has there been a beta period involving more than a couple of people/boards?

Yeh, nice price, only 149 euro (exc VAT and shipping) for upgrade peg 1 to peg 2 1 GHz G4.
I am just wondering, I have ordered already my Peg 2 G4, I think I don't have to do it again, or.....

Is it "here" yet?

No photos, and the online store still says it's out of stock (presumably still referring to the Pegasos I).

Nice touch with the print on that kicked out April PLD! ;)

Hi,

These are final prices, except for the upgrade price. That one is incorrect and will be altered within the next few hours. The upgrade price is as announced earlier.

Get lost you x86 lover!!! :P

I disagree. I think you should blame the more efficient PowerPC RISC design (it is big endian, compared to the little endian x86 wannabe!) and the great coders who write more efficient code for the G4!

(I could be joking around here or I could be serious! You decide!)

A new board is released, wouldn't there have to be a new version of MorphOS with new drivers? No pictures of the board, no OS update, wrong prices on the web site. Is that the usual Genesi mess with announcements (and everything is fixed three days later) or indeed a pre-release with the actual products still in the development pipeline?

Facts? The facts are that Genesi doesn't have a license to port or facilitate AmigaOS on the Pegasos. Amiga is doing just what *real* Amiga users want them to do. They protect their property against pirates looking for gold outside their own backyard.

Why so emotional? Got something to hide? You could have answered differently, intelligently and undermined his point, instead you look silly.

And to think the other day you had me looking at my posts to see if any could have possibly offended you or been seen as attacking without reason.

Next time I will wait for someone I have respect for like Hooligan, Warface or Wilse to make a statement like that before I waste time.

>I disagree. I think you should blame the more efficient PowerPC RISC design
>(it is big endian, compared to the little endian x86 wannabe!) and the great
>coders who write more efficient code for the G4!

Similar playground stuff. Again, you could have shown his comment up in a more
elegant fashion and carried the audience with you.

>(I could be joking around here or I could be serious! You decide!)
I think you don't know how to deal with comments like his, that is how it looks
to me.

Why? I haven't seen a satisfactory answer that does not resolve around a contractual dispute as for why this link was originally there in the first place.

Followed the link PegasOS-II's page looks professional.

Then you follow the buy link to the US seller: http://www.ultraspec.com/.
The appearance of their site leaves more then a little to be desired. Is this company a bulk discounted used computer hardware vendor? Blech! I tried to search for PegasOS on their site and came up blank. Do they even sell this stuff?

@Hey IAmHornyToo,

Somewhow I think you are refering to me, correct? :-)

>> Facts? The facts are that Genesi doesn't have a license to port or facilitate AmigaOS on the Pegasos.

OS4 is based on the open source u-boot. Which is ironic, all Genesi have to do is to take the u-boot 'open source' code and compile it, basically. Maybe make a BOX that emulates the u-boot system.

Then OS4 will just boot up on that. And don't tell me that won't work, because MOL (Mac on Linux) works.

>> Amiga is doing just what *real* Amiga users want them to do. They protect their property against pirates looking for gold outside their own backyard.

?

I don't recall the current AmigaInc corp doing what *I* wanted as an Amiga developer and a potential *investor* (still waiting for the AmigaInc IPO).

(Lying, cheating, and selling out to Microsoft, and other things of that nature.)

You can't protect your IP against pirates by making everyone your enemy. Can you?

And you don't deserve to be in business if you can't deliver a few hundred t-shirts to your most loyal fans. And no, I don't want a free Pegasos t-shirt. :P I think t-shirts are a lame idea. :P

Genesi have have sent out thousands of t-shirts, shame about the ugly design :P

I'd prefer to see Genesi do other things than give out free t-shirts. Sorry. :(
