It will be quite interesting to get a report from this event, there is now tow weeks gone by, from last event in Benelux Germany, that should have optimized some gfx problems by now, hope they have ported some more games,

I hope that will show some of most common programs whit AmigaOS.

id just like to say i hope all goes well for the the Show. I live 7hrs north of the show but am chomping that i wont be able to make it. My wife gave me the option of the show or ADSL. Damm tough choice as ive waited 3 years for ADSL to become avail in our area. Still maybe another time.

I hope someone will take plenty of photos and video as i certainly would have had i been able to make it.

I think you were trying humor there. But, it wasn't funny you don't know what's going on. Ever stop to think they may not make the gobs of cash you do and instead it's a family doing their best to live within their means and provide for themselves and childern.

Let's get back to some actual Amiga issues and off the attack for no apparent reasons.

Cool but shouldn't you had announced this a bit earlier? I guess that some people won't be able to organise their time in order to join you, with an announcement just a day before the show.

I agree. Also, it's hard to forget when you live in Europe or similar that elsewhere in the world you can get some REALLY long distances.

From here to the farthest place within the same country (Norway) is about 2500km. So a LOT of people in Norway wouldn't be any closer to seeing OS4 in action if we organised something in Norway than when they showed it in Sweden/Denmark. I expect the same is valid in Australia :-)

Yes! Distances can be a problem. Having been born in the Uk and holidayed back a few times it makes you realise what you have over there and many dont appreciate it. Here in Australia (like many other countries) distance and geographics) is a problem.
Henpecked - lol. (ther person making that comment must be single hey) Family first mate. Still funny as it is, ive been hanging for ADSL and thats more important i suppose. I just hope we get some decent video footage and photos and reports from the show.

6-7 hours eithe way and 300-400 AUD for a 1 day trip down and return versus ADSL, i cant justify it against ADSL (which is 60.00 setup and 89.00 per month unlimited plans) i can get more fun from that.

Still my heart is with the good old Amiga. I hope in time the prices drop and become much more realistic. Most people would laugh at those prices. still economics and supply and demand may come into effect in the near future. We can only hope of cheaper boards and systems.

Till then ill spend my money elsewhere and keep on waiting (now where have we heard that one b4)

You forgot one: Competition. On component prices that could go either way.
I would guess only a near end-of-life price drop.
Luckily it is only the motherboard and CPU which are 'relatively' expensive.

Here's a link to the first short reports - final numbers reckoned at 48, but Brisbane is low on remaining amiga user numbers! I can't help to imagine what an event such as this could have been like back in 1999, or even 2001.
