Saturday November 22, 2003, the Amiga.info user group will be hosting the third Ottawa Amiga Show. An A1 XE G4 DIY bundle will be raffled off. A first for North America - OS4 (beta) will be demonstrated on an AmigaOne and Amiga 4000... On Saturday November 22, 2003, the Amiga.info user group will be hosting the third Ottawa Amiga Show. Once again, the show will be held at the Routier Centre, 172 Guigues Street, in the market of downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

There will be demonstrations of OS4.0 (beta) on a AmigaOne G4XE (PPC) system, probably the first such demonstration in North America. There will also be a Classic Amiga 4000 system (060/PPC] also demonstarting OS4.0 (beta). Both systems will be available for the public to try out.

With all of the interest in alternative operating systems, this is an excellent opportunity for the public to see the latest offerings from Amiga, Inc. This includes the AmigaOne, and the binary portable Amiga Digital Environment (DE), currently available for Microsoft Windows, x86 Linux systems, ARM and MIPS processors.

Ack Software Controls has generously donated an AmigaOne G4XE DIY kit to be raffled off. Tickets will be $2.00 each or three for $5.00, and Livewire Systems will include a ticket with each purchase made from them.

The following is a list of the show exhibitors:

ACK Software Controls from Fonthill, Ontario will be demonstrating the AmigaOne, the first new Amiga hardware since 1993, and a modified Amiga 4000.

Ottawa's own Technomages will be showcasing their latest Amiga DE software, such as Eric Schwartz Puzzles and Memory. Their software will be running on a Windows x86 system and a portable MIPS based Windows CE system.

ZEE4 of Toronto will be on-hand demonstrating their brand new Amiga DE offerings including SmackE.

There will also be at least two Amiga retailers at the show. Cinereal and Livewire Systems of Ottawa will be selling a wide range of hardware and software for Amiga computers.

Finally, Amiga.info will be presenting information about the user group and answering questions about the Amiga platform.

The current position of the Canadian dollar makes coming to Canada an inexpensive proposition for our American neighbors. At the time of this writing, $100.00 USD = $130.00 CAD.

Ottawa is about a two hour drive west of Montreal, five hours north-east of Toronto, and nine hours from Boston. You can also get to Ottawa by flying into the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport.

There is a mailing list that you can subscribe to if you would like to be kept up to date on the show details. To subscribe, send an email to oas-subscribe@technomages.net.

Any questions about the Ottawa Amiga show can be directed to amigashow@technomages.net.

ROFLMAO!!! - I wonder if those "offices" have kids running through them every now and then :o

I wonder why Bill/Fleecy/Whoever left out their name whilst posting though, maybe they didn't know how if the letter should have ended with CEO or not maybe?

Oh well jokes aside.. It's brilliant to hear OS4's going to be running on a A4000 machine!! Fab!!

And some guys say i try my best to be negative .... *sigh*

Good luck with the show guys!

The stuff below "About Amiga:" is a great written piece of comedy but really should be about Commodore, Escom or any other Amiga company what has not stolen from amiga users.

Good luck with the show.

Eh, if the pictures of the prototype hadn't been leaked you wouldn't have heard of it until just about now, so why is the silence so bad?

Again: There's no news on the AmigaOne Lite BECAUSE IT DOESN'T EXIST YET. You weren't supposed to see those leaked pictures at all.

Funny, these speakers I bought in 1993 say 'MultiMedia Ready" on them.

Which consist of 4 years (and that was my point).

I also didn't say "file for",just that "they" (orginal AInc, C=, Escom and now AInc)
are/were bancrupt. This just means that your so deep in dept that you can't make
it out. "Filling for" is just admitting the truth, and thats what C= and Escom did,
while AInc (1985) simply sold out for a symbolic prize (read just enough to pay
the credits the owners did take personally). Doesn't change the fact that they were
beyond repair (as a company, the tech was still of some use ;) ).

AInc (2000) on the other side are simply in denial, their tech really belongs to TAO and
GateWay, or is allready sold(*) to Eyetech/Hyperion.

Buying a brand is one thing, but trying to claim it history (only the positive parts off-course)
while they have contributed nothing to the value of the brand is just a ripoff.

Look here http://www.atari.com/ to see how a honest company does it.

(*) It is under alien control, which makes it Nil for any new investor, just as if had been sold.

> Heh, this is funny, a thread about the show, but almost all comments focus on the PR from Ainc.

For some unknown reason, someone at the Amiga.info user group thought it would be a good idea to include that ridiculous "about Amiga" garbage. While they were already making fools of themselves, they also said that the Teron is one of "Amiga Inc's latest offerings," that the AACE gamepack is "the binary portable Amiga Digital Environment" and that there is "new Amiga hardware." OF COURSE everyone will poke fun at an embarrassing brainfart of that magnitude. Surely you must have seen these comments coming from a mile away?

If you submit a news story and want the actual NEWS to be discussed and taken seriously, then you should NOT do idiotic stuff like:

* Attaching a picture of the goatse.cx anus.
* Attaching anything from the amiga.com website, especially not the hilarious description of the company.
* Attaching a "funny" racial joke, to make the news more fun to read.

It's so simple.
Now this news item has become one big troll, just because of that single unnecessary mistake.

Good luck with the show!

The origin and roots of today's Amiga, Inc. extend back in time more than twenty years.

>Funny, these speakers I bought in 1993 say 'MultiMedia Ready" on them.

:-) Go back ten more years.
