There is one thing I don't understand about the program.
Whenever I type a message in eg. CED, and then view that fax
it looks like this:

Hello
Hello
I don't want two lines with the exact text
I don't want two lines with the exact text
Goodbye
Goodbye

Why does STFax do this?

Too bad that noone has traditional phone anymore :) Atleast here in Finland most of the people do have a cell phone, and no own phone line anymore. Don't understand me wrong, STFax is great software, it's just a bit too late now...
I did have a phone line about 8-10 years ago...

I bought STFax 3 whenever I used Amigas regularly and it was one of the best programs I had... thanks for making the latest version free, it'll be great to use it again when OS4 is out!

In england, pretty much everyone still has a fixed line (you need it for ADSL, for example), so thats not the problem. The reason this isn't much use here is that most people are getting rid of their fax modems as they upgrade to broadband.

Well sure telefon cables are still in place :) Lot's of people use those old cables when they use ADSL, but not many have fixed telephone subscription anymore. If you have ADSL and cellphone then you don't need to have fixed telephone subscription, but if you want to use STFax then you need one...

I think what you people fail to realize is that you use a tool to solve a particular problem, not the other way around.

If you need to send/receive fax messages, you need a way to do that. It's not about being a "great program, too bad I don't have a phone line anymore". If you had a requirement for FAX, but didn't want to pay an awful lot of money for a hardware device, this would be a possible tool to use. You see, a lot of people still use FAX for too many things. And if you need to communicate with those people, one of the prerequisites is a phoneline, another is FAX software and/or hardware.
