Who's responsible for this site? I love it! :):):) Who get's the credit? C'mon show yourself you know you want to! :)

=== Shortage of Nicks Attributed to Problems at Amiga Inc ===

This just in:

The recent outbreak of posts on ANN by "Anonymous" - nearly all of them expressing dislike of Genesi CEO BIll Buck - have stymied moderators at ANN. ANN's site owner Christian Kemp spoke today to a Wrong Pla.net correspondent on conditions of non-anonymity, wishing to "appear responsible for my [his] statements".

Christian explained: "It seems that shortages of funding and lack of office personnel and equipment (and offices) at Amiga Inc has made it impossible to issue nicks to all their supporters. Rumors are that
the CAM newsletter has suggested they all share one nick - ANONYMOUS - until the next funding round allows for individual nicks."

An anonymous source indicated, "It's not like there are many of us anyway. We'd gladly share HALF a nick and pay $50 to do so if Amiga Inc non-employees told us that would be for the best. So, we are happy - and it's none of your BUSINESS if you haven't bought use of the nick yourself! We pass the same nick around, finding that it gives exceptionally good value as it provides so much utility for practically no outlay."

Wrong Pla.net's staff of investigative reporters have unearthed a page that was missing from depositions on Rich Wood's AMIGA IN COURT website that sheds light on the phenomena. When repeatedly asked by Genesi's attorney and prodded by Judge Lasnik why there was a shortage of nicks available for the hate campaign, Bill McEwen finally replied after several aborted mentions of a horse veterinarian in Montana,

"It has been the promotional plan since the start that when the final funding round comes through that the specially personalized nicks will be issued along with the T-shirts to each member of our incredibly supportive, exciting and innovative fan club as a show of appreciation for their patience, along with a paper-plated certificate of ownership, faux-monogrammed below with the slogan, 'So the World May Know' ... are you happy now?..."

Further investigations by Wrong Pla.net's legal staff are looking into the slogan, wondering if use of the word "World" may infringe on Wrong Pla.net's use of "Pla.net".

The last of these 4 patents gave us a sore throat and an unseemingly feeling of discomfort for one or two seconds until we realised the far-reaching conclusions this patent implies.

It seems to be clear to us that Amiga Inc. was not able to come up with the monetary needs to obtain a license to print coupons, literally arising and resulting in the situation which is known today as the "The Great Coupon SCAM".

lol

Re: Motivation stolen by phantom story

Well, well, well, at least now we know which mailing lists the Wrong Pla.net crew visit. :-P

Indeed, behind the humour lies a rather sad story that reflects all that is self-destructive about parts of the Amiga community.

Absolutely excellent! Refreshing, this needed to be done, maybe it'll be an eye-opener to some. Well done, whoever you are! :D

Now I don't have to read "The Amiga Community Portal" only to laugh AT people, now I can laugh WITH wrongpla.net. ;)

@Chris Hodges

Oh, the item was funny all right. I was simply referring to the incident behind it and the fact that it hasn't been publicised much - so whoever is doing the WrongPla.net story must have read one of the affected mailing lists AND taken the time to draw some fairly likely conclusions. Conclusions which, having done the same checking myself, I had reached too.

Let's hope that one day people will grow up and leave that sort of behaviour behind them, eh?

In the meanwhile, keep up the good work. :-)

It probably isn't them as such. More than likely it's one of their supporters. I can think of at least one who has a personal issue with Chris and tries to damage his reputation at every opportunity. This is the sort of thing I'd expect from him.
