WOW! Fantastic news!
I'm glad that Hyperion recognizes the importance of 3D support in an operating system.

Keep the good news coming!

Very Cool!

Will Warp3d work with the SNAP drivers, or will they work with native drivers only?

I read that all A1 drivers will use SNAP, so I guess not. I expect only specific cards will be supported by Warp3D though.

SNAP is for 2D, Warp3D for... 3D obviously. You can have support for 2D without having 3D.

Babelfish(.altavista.com) says (portuguese -> english):

eclode = it comes out
eclodes = you come out

So "Warp3D, you come out on OS4" would be the complete translation, or "Warp3d
has its coming out on OS4" (that would also explain who lives in 'Eclodia'... ;-)
whatever suits you best..

If translations were this so simple... the first would suite you fine "Warp3D comes out on AmigaOS4" Eclodes is a form of a verb who has no form... should I put it another way it has only some specific forms has there's no point in having 1rst or 2nd person, and on 3rd it behaves like 'it', never like an he, so it's a stricly "an it form verb", you would never conjugate it on any other form, but it's Altavista...

"Eclodes" was like 'portuglish', a mix of a portuguese word with english accent! ;)

But hey, whatever rock your world, want to nitpick on this issue, be my guest, I guess I'll be heading to amiga.org where they're having a nicer discussion on the subject and with the mens behind W3D. I've got otter issues to worry about! ;b

I think it's not yet supported.
It's not really a problem for me as I always deasactivate fog when there is fog and I can disable it in a game.

Btw when will you fix trilinear mipmapping in your voodoo driver? It's broken. (just teasing you :) )

Agreed, it's not really required for glSokoban. In Heretic II it will look strange, though, since some of the levels loose a lot of their moody atmosphere (the swamp level is a good example).

So, will you admit to your driver being crappy? Or is it only crappy if fog is missing? :)

BTW, did you fix the hits glsokoban makes on startup yet? If so, can I get an updated binary? :)

It's more visually obvious than missing trilinear support. Especially in Heretic II.

Hmmm, didn't check for a long time. The new binary is OS 4 only, and I don't have any 3.x or WOS installation anymore... But you can always buy OS 4 ;-)

MorphOS has had Rave3D and Warp3D since the very beginning..

Rave3D is the old Apple QuickDraw RAVE/3D API - it's actually a viable
alternative to OpenGL in some situations, but Apple let it fall into disrepair.
ATI and others, as Downix said, extended it over the years. In fact right up
to the first Radeon cards, ATI were still defining extensions, because it's
used by some old yet important Mac apps.

Of course Apple now use OpenGL as the core of their *entire* graphics subsystem
which allows them to rotate the whole display on a cube and so on.

And yeah, MorphOS will have OpenGL soon too. But not the level that OS X has :)
