The Ottawa Amiga Show was held on November 22nd. Some highlights included - a demonstration of OS4 (alpha) on AmigaOne and OS4 beta on a CSPPC Amiga 4000 in Mediator Tower, both were running YAM and AmIRC. Randy Hughes from Amiga Inc was on hand to chat with attendees. And one lucky US attendee won the AmigaOne motherboard raffle - they traveled over 8 hours to get to the show!! A great time was had by all!

btw ... Is that the same Joanne on Undernet #amigas .. That won that AmigaONE. Either way ...Nice reward for an eight hour (16 both ways) drive.

Hey Robert - I was shocked not to see you there. ;-) Perhaps next year. As for liking to eat, who doesn't?

My general feeling is that the show didn't merit two days, and I think that one of the most important things for amiga users is to socialize - so thats what we did. I made a bunch of new friends over the course of the show. In general, Amiga users are a really excellent bunch of people.

The show was alot of fun and I have already started on planning next years (I hope with a newer, larger location).

I don't think that the winner of the raffle is the same Joanna as in the Undernet #amiga channel, but she was quite lucky - she won two of the three prizes - but she also purchased a fair number of tickets. Either way, it certainly made the trip worth it for her. ;-)

BTW, nice report Tom...I appreciate the work you put into report as well as the show. Everytime I've been to Ottawa, I've had a great time. Even my wife had to admit she had a good time! It's always great to get together with such a diverse crowd of people. Looking forward to the next time.

Just noticed that the link to Genesi on the page is wrong, it's pointing to
Genesi music store... add -usa between genesi and .com ;-)
