If they even look bad it's even better so they won'tget out and waste their time with women etc etc. ;-DThe Friedens are said to be some of the most capable code-producing machinesin the Amigaish market. |

It was said that those games were Hyperion's, I merely pointed out that they are not. Whoever made the statement I corrected is free to rephrase it to explain what he meant. |

Yes, I know that, thus those are not Hyperion's games. You know, this could be taken as hair splitting, but it's not: It's surely much more, way more difficult to write a game from scratch than porting it to another OS, for one, and then there's the simply unfactual statement that those are Hyperion games. |

Well, yea, creating a game from scratch isn't something to underestimate, the graphics, the music, the gameplay... i wouldn't be suprised if coding the game is the easiest part, well it would be for me, as i can't draw a straight line with a paintpackage & i'm tonedeaf ;)

You're assuming that I meant that porting a game is the same as programming it from scratch, but it's not, it's much easier. It's called "port" for a reason, it would have been called "rewrite" otherwise. |

Posted by Nate Downes on 09-Dec-2003 19:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 106 (Amon_Re): For a comparison of game content creation vs game engine creation:
There are over a dozen "evolved" Quake engines out there based on the GPL'd source.
There is only 1 non-commercial game for these engines, OpenQuartz. |

So it`s nice they replaced it with a prettier picture indeed. |
