Looks like I sold my BPPC too early... I could get good price in the AWN now. I only wonder did Hyperion promise OS4 for BPPC for free or what?

Awesome set of apps seem to run already on AOS4.

Well done everybody! Keep it up!

Hardly. Whether we'll ever see a BlizzardPPC version of AmigaOS 4.0 or not remains uncertain. I do believe Genesi mentioned something about giving away MorphOS for free for BlizzardPPC and CyberStormPPC owners.

Too bad OS 4.0 or something similar came out around 2000-2001*. My PPC Amiga might not have ended up in the basement, now serving as a container of spare parts...:-(

* Yes, I know people will tell me that a beta of MorphOS was out by the then. Tried it, tried later versions as well, the comp is still in the basement, enough said.

Yes, free MOS for BPPC at the same time AOS4 is released, when recent versions allways runned on the hardware. Too much a coincidence. Too bad Genesi seems to be more worried in playing certain games than serving the community as they want it to think...

This topic "is about cam"?! This topic is about nothing, it is non-news except for those that have access to it. For the rest, it's like saying "an article has been released somewhere but you can't read it, we just wanted to let you now it exists". How interesting. As to the news of Hyperion porting their software to their OS, what a bummer. I wouldn't have expected that.

If you read the posts carefully, you will find this:

"I only wonder did Hyperion promise OS4 for BPPC for free or what?"

This was in answer to that, the poster mixed up Hyperion and Genesi, and it was simply pointed out that it was Genesi who promised the BlizzardPPC versions for free. Take it easy, and make a step back. :)

So? Why would that be bad for AOS4? If Genesi wanted to "invade" the market they could do it NOW and more successfully.

Well, they would do more damage to AOS4 by waiting which is what I'd guess the
initial poster was wondering about.

I don't really see how. By waiting you get in direct competition with AOS4, by giving it away now you are likely to bind more people to you. This giving it away NOW would do more damage to AOS4.

And you can always have both solution on your BPPC. For example if you are WarpUp fan you probably prefer MorphOS but on the other hand I know some software which doesnt work in MorphOS but works in AmigaOS4 (MorphOS is CGX only). OS4 have new sets of Reaction gadgets, MOS have new polished MUI... the list could go on forever.

Agreed, but the point was why someone has stated that a BPPC version of MOS
would be released for free when AOS4 is out. Cannot see the connection other
than trying to destroy the market. I mean, if you see a value releaseing MOS
for BPPC, why plan the event depending on AOS4 at all?

The MorphOS MUI version is being developed exclusively for MorphOS and

Because MorphOS works on PowerUP boards since 2000 and it isn't a big business

So ? Even if MOS version of MUI have some few features more than OS4 MUI then MUI for OS4 is till OS4 native. So it has native MUI, and that was all I said, And no I have not seen any official notice that it would be just unregistered shareware version.

Ok maybe it then is just SW version. BUT. Even if it is, it does not affect the usability of MUI. Only configurability is restricted. You can still use MUI and MUI application. Like in m68k version, here is no restictions in it what MUI application works and what does not. And I doubt it that MOS MUI has changed dramtically, maybe it looks different but that's not so important if application still works.

You really don't want to understand, do you? In which way, releasing MOS for the classic systems at the same time as OS4, would damage AOS4 sales MORE than if MOS for the classic systems were to be released NOW? Don't you understand that AOS4 sales would be hurt MORE if it were to be released NOW?

My GUESS is that they didn't release it to B/CPPC to have more people buying Pegasus machines. But now maybe they see a different balance between pros and cons to THEY'RE business..?

Or maybe an update to the BPCC version of MOS is a boring task which they have only just got around to?

Who would want to go back to coding for that old technology after a year of coding for the Pegasos?
