Posted by AmigaInLove on 14-Dec-2003 18:31 GMT | ... other future promises by Alan & C!
When will they release something usefull or created by them (and that will use something that can be named Amiga)?
PS
Eyetech phone support:
"Bonjour, my Aone is using linux slowly and prone to crash during last year ... will you fix all these problems?"
"Ask Mai we are only traders, not creators of Aone"
"Uh?"
"Take a TeronCx board, reflash it and solder on it a boingball ... you have an Aone (it will be cheaper too!)"
"Okyz ... thx" |

Posted by John on 14-Dec-2003 19:38 GMT | Redhouse does not do anything decent but sell rebadged boards and old Amiga hardware at rip off prices, maybe he is your ideal store owner but people like that riun this market with his stupid ways.
Alan FFS either shut up shop or sell hardware at reasonable prices. |

Feeding the sound through a compressor makes it easier to understand. (For the same reason that a compressor makes percussion sound more "punchy".) |

Alan's speech at Bath : Comment 25 of 27 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Robin Cloutman on 15-Dec-2003 16:52 GMT | In reply to Comment 21 (themoose): Erm, demon can't block my site for any quota as there is no quota on it, what probably happened was too many ppl trying to download at once - which is why I didn't announce it on here first as I wanted to get ppl grabbing it over time, instead of in one lump (4 gigs downloaded yesterday, which means 200 ppl grabbed it, not bad when it started as word of mouth only).
As for the quality - it's good enough to hear *almost* everything he says provided you actually have some decent speakers etc. I did work out a way to improve the quality at the encoding end, but by that time the mirrors were all up and over 100 ppl had grabbed it - would have messed up anyone using resume.
If ppl want to hear what he's saying properly then someone else will be releasing a decent quality video (and hopefully seperate audio too) of it later in the week.

Posted by hammer on 15-Dec-2003 19:35 GMT | In reply to Comment 11 (John): Note that Eyetech funds and outsource the constructions of the AmigaOne motherboards from reference designs. I see nothing wrong with practise since this is a standard practise in the X86 world (e.g. NVIDIA based reference designs).
One should focus on the end user price and end user support. |
