I have been working for over 2 weeks now, to bring you all a working AHI protracker module-player with a MUI gui. :-D
Download from here: ProPlayer 1.2
Readme file coming up
----------------------
Short: AHI Protracker player (MOS)
Authors: Per Johansson
Uploader: Per Johansson <omen at telia.com>
Version: 1.2
Requires: MorphOS. AHI 4.x
Overview
-----------------------------------------
ProPlayer is a commandline / gui protracker player.
From the beginning, i intended only to make a GUI for the great ptplay that was written by Timm S. Müller, Ronald Hof.
After i began writing the GUI i noticed more and more soundglitches mostly in chip-modules. So i spent over 2 weeks with tracking down
different glitches and fixed them too. The only commands left untouched is 1xx and 2xx (sliding up and down).
EFx command is not yet working, so thats the reason why the source is not included yet.
Lets get down to features:
* A gui ;)
* Support for Soundtracker, Noisetracker, and Protracker modules
* Support playlists
* Support powerpacked modules
Supported arguments is either a module, or a playlist.
Btw, i couldn´t get the code to work with a icon attached, so that
will be in the next release.
I attached some example modules, that plays corrupted with ptplay
Merry christmas everybody and a happy new year.
(And yes, there will be an Amiga OS 4 version later too, so no flaming please)

Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you too. :-) |

It sounds like there wasn't a player already? Or at least a player with AHI.
Or am I just misinterpreting?
Anyway, merry Christmas to you too :) |

Posted by Anonymous on 23-Dec-2003 01:10 GMT | In reply to Comment 3 (Anonymous): Yes you are misinterpreting (kind of)! I have played mod's for a long time on MorphOS, but this is a lean and clean, native player with a (still somewhat simple, I would for instance like a way to navigate inside the mods, like a "progress slider" or whatever) native looking GUI (not some old OS2.x legacy style), it works (as far as I know at this moment) flawlessly, even with chip-mods. This is a great download, that every MorphOS user should have a look at! This is absolutely an effort worth applauding!
And Merry Christmas to you too! :-) |

It is a sorry state of affairs that such comments must to be added, but anyway, great job, and many thanks for this beautiful Christmas Present! I really appreciate it :) |

Posted by Emeric SH on 23-Dec-2003 08:18 GMT | Is there any chance of the project being continued and ending in something similar to Hippoplayer? :) With MP3/OGG/WMA support maybe? :) |

Posted by Pegasos on 23-Dec-2003 12:26 GMT | For mp3 and ogg there is already Kaya.
Can you add xpk instead of Powerpacker-support, please? |

I have alot more on my "Todo"-list, but i wanted to get this off my
chest first.
I wanted to add xpk-support from the beginning, but i couldn´t decide how to do it, using xadmaster, or just supporting something like SQUASH?
Anyone knows?
Thanks to piru for already reporting some small glitches, and improvements. :)
And how could i forget to listen to "guitar slinger" from jogeir?, simple, it was just located in a different drawer together with the XM's..
More is coming. :) |

Posted by brotheris on 23-Dec-2003 20:03 GMT | In reply to Comment 11 (Per Johansson): I wanted to add xpk-support from the beginning, but i couldn´t decide how to do it
simply by using xpkmaster.library, like everyone else. It will unpack powerpacked modules, if it'll find (evil) powerpacker.library. |

Posted by Per Johansson on 23-Dec-2003 20:35 GMT | In reply to Comment 12 (brotheris): Oki, i will add that to the next version. :)
Also, i updated the package 1 minute ago (while the christmas ham was in the oven), fixing a glitch called the "Jogeir"-effect (thanks piru), that is when setting the sample-nr in the beginning of a pattern, and then triggering a note with a empty sample-nr.
Please download the package again. :) |
