It was reportedly confirmed by hooligan/dcs at #morphos that "first three demogroups received their Pegs" from Genesi - apparently now fulfilling an old promise. As the readers may remember, Genesi promised Pegasoses to demo groups way back, but the plan was postponed due to the cancellation of Pegasos I. From #morphos: [Hooligan] as unbelievable as it may sound, but first three demogroups received their Pegs today \o/

Decision lottoed by me, DCS left out of draw completely to avoid unnecessary bad blood and conflicts of interest.

Got a call from Mikael Kalms/TBL today .. he was expecting a full system as promised.. but anyway this is (MUCH!) better than nothing. A TBL demo is on its way ;-)

Nah.. there are still people making Vic20 demos.. even though C64 (Amiga etc) were released years ago.. I don't belive it'll affects much to those who want to use certain system

So it's a bare board and not a full system? No need to ask about the actual configuration then. (except the cpu choice?)

but sadly the amiga scene is far less active than the c64 scene, and other
retro scenes.. :/

let's hope this will give it a boost, and I sure hope there will be amigaos4 versions of the demos aswell! can't be that hard to do a crosscompile can it?

Don't get me wrong though. In a way, i think it's good. But i still have a feeling that groups like Loonies (after seeing The Castle), Ephidrena (their demo released in 2003, Fake electronic lightshow, was awesome), Iris, TBL and others still can achieve super quality on the 68k. We hardly don't get any releases anymore...

Any word yet on which democompo will be picked to present these morphos demos?

YEAH!!! Is Nature getting a board? I don't know if they're even interested
in PPC or MOS but I love their demos...it would also kick ass to see some
DCS prods on the Peg one day...anyway, I am definately expecting mindblowing
demos after seeing what's possible with only 68k/AGA. :)

Damn, I'm now wishing that careers and uni didn't impede with our plans to continue making Amy demos after terminal. To think I could've been writing this on a shiny Peg now :)

so finally the peg will get demos , i am looking forward to see theese but
must wait for a while i guess as we didnt get a free one yet..

anyway i have no high expectations for the ppc demos in 2004 , maybe in 2005 everything will have picked up a certain pace ..

1 comment about this , why didnt you give the pegs to people who is ALLREADY PPC coders? , to get the quality up etc ...

ah ohwell i hope theese 3 groups can show us that ppc aint just a sad excuse for not going x86 .. cheers

z5:ephidrena was lured away from amiga ages ago , they went ATARI..
(BUT YES they released a demo in 03 on amiga , but i think that was more like an "hey lets do an amiga prod now" instead of an atari falcon one...


anyway u should get yourself a ppc card atleast as i dont see any big names releasing any demos on 68k for the next year or so...

if people is supposed to get upset on others for making them move forward , well then all i can say is GROW UP! , we in push have allready moved PPC only aswell... and i expect alot of people to do the same soon..
