1) the link is all wrong.
2) The page is filled with cryptic code. It's worse than matrix :)

I don't understand much greek, but atleast I can tell that the background butterfly image doesn't display very well on resolutions above 1024 in width.

Just some friendly feedback from one webmaster to another.

I guess you shouldn't have provided a link to the original statement. What was actually said is just a mouse click away now...

"In the meanwhile, we licensed AmigaDE and we made the "SmartBoy." When the prototype was built, AmigaDE was not ready. Finally, we abandoned the effort because in a world with the likes of Compaq, etc., a Windows CE device running AmigaDE is a bit like pouring alot of water in a good glass of wine. It just did not make good business sense and we could not achieve competitive pricing (even for the embedded market)."

"... Samface ... is a retard."

Or, for the sake of completeness: When one looks at how Samface thinks and at his creative quoting, one could easily think that anyone taking notice of his ramblings is a retard. :'P

Uuuuummmmhh... Care to explain how your cut n'paste from the page I linked to would make me a retard or why my "not-even-a-complete-sentence" quote from BBRV would be "rambling"?

In reply to Comment 9 (Fabio Alemagna):
The fact that the context is Windows CE devices running AmigaDE rather than the AmigaDE in itself is irrelevant. Except for the AmigaDE Player, the AmigaDE only supports Windows CE devices at this time. That makes the AmigaDE as a whole in it's current existence, with the AmigaDE Player as the only exception, "like pouring water into a good glass of whine" according to BBRV.

Not the "context", Sammy, the *subject*! You purposedly changed the meaning of that sentence! You are simply dishonest, just admit it.

No. You would have to explain that yourself, because that's not what I said.

Just because I think you're rambling most of the time doesn't mean that I think you were rambling in comment #5 in this thread. You were just being off-topic, dishonest and deceitful there. ;')

"... Samface ... is a retard" was an example "quote" constructed the same way as your "quote" of buckyboy. In other words, editing in order to make the "quote" say something entirely different from the original text.

If you still don't get it, look at "reviewers' quotes" in movie advertising.

The movie poster says: "You must see this movie! /NY Times"
NY Times really said "If you're a masochist longing for an hour and a half of brain-rotting psychological torture, then you must see this movie!"

In reply to Comment 16 (Fabio Alemagna):
The subject was the AmigaDE licensed "SmartBoy" and the context was about the AmigaDE running on Windows CE devices. BBRV was explaining why they abandoned the SmartBoy with AmigaDE and the quote was their stated reason. Exactly how was I beeing "dishonest" when I quoted BBRV's reason for abondoning their AmigaDE based product is beyond me. I just thought it was a relevant fact to Man on the moon's observation that Genesi has a dedicated AmigaDE PPC developer website. Wether it's because they think the AmigaDE is more suitable as a desktop PPC computers rather than Windows CE devices or because it's not like pouring water into a good glass of wine after all, I don't know. It's nevertheless an unexpected but interesting move by Genesi, IMO.

Either this is some kind of joke of yours, or any further explanation wouldn't help anyway, since you have the original text and your edited "quote", word for word, right under your nose.

Maybe somebody else is willing to waste a few hundred offtopic and futile posts trying to make you comprehend the intricacies of basic English - again.

I want a flamewar with a fresh topic ;)

Your only issue seems to be the fact that my quote did not include the entire context that it was in because taking things out of it's context *could* change the originally intended meaning. You're right, you can change the meaning of a statement by excluding parts of it. However, I do not believe that this would be the case for the quote I made. Furthermore, if this was really my intention, do you seriously think I would include a link to the original context of where the quote was from? I think not.

If I didn't know better, I'd say you're bashing at me simply for the sake of bashing me. Grow up.
