I'm proud to announce the newest Amiga software product from Airsoft Softwair today: Hollywood Designer. The program is a state of the art "what you see is what you get" editor to create presentations, games and applications for the Multimedia Application Layer Hollywood and will be released soon. Hollywood Designer offers a powerful GUI that has all functions you need to unleash your creativity. With the Hollywood Designer now everyone can create funky Hollywood presentations with just a few clicks and save them for all Amiga platforms, e.g. you can create presentations for MorphOS on AmigaOS or presentations for WarpOS/AmigaOS on MorphOS. Hollywood Designer blasts the borders of the different Amiga platforms! And now here are some screenshots of Hollywood Designer in action:

These are REALLY good news.

A good program of new concept for all Amigas is here to enhance the capabilities of another one of recent concept.

I would like to know whether this Software is compatible to PowerPoint #?.ppt files. If not then would it be possible to add support for it.

Looking really good!

It's certainly on my list of software I have to buy when an OS4 version is released.
Now if we just had khtml ported and the posibility to embed it in Hollywood projects it would be 100% perfect (for me:)

It's programs like this that convinced me that I should get a new Amiga after all.

Keep up the good work.

In reply to Comment 6 (Troels E):
Troels, you could buy it now and use it on your classic Amiga until OS4 is released.

It's great what Andreas has done here, his software accomodates all the Amiga-type systems and has interoperability. Evidently you can write games and apps with this. Depends a lot on ease-of-use how successful it will be. Since there is portability between Amiga OS 3.X and MOS and WarpUp/Powerup (and he plans support for OS4) it would be interesting to get AROS in there too and maybe even support other platforms down the road.

Heck... I wouldn't be too surprised if the OS3 68k binaries would work on OS4 anyway...

A Powerpoint player was announced. IIRC its development was delayed while this GUI was coded.

Yep, I remember Andreas announcing a PPT-player too. This would not neccessarily mean that you will be able to *edit* PPT-files though (the Scala plugin just *plays* Scala scripts (i.e. compiles them into executables).

One has to keep in mind that this is a one man project (a damn good one, IMHO).

That's right. But as a Scala script is a text file, you can edit it in any text editor, as you can a Hollywood script.

A Powerpoint file is of course not a text file. That would be too easy.

It's very impressive; and how refreshing to see an Amiga program that isn't a port from Linux or a copy of a Windows program. It will be interesting to see if the GUI is as intuitive as Scala's - that is a hard act to follow. Scala is arguably the best Amiga program ever.

Whoa! I'll buy this for os4 when it's ready!
I already bought Hollywood for 68k, but starting to examine and study new scripting language definitely sucks :)

:-)

I was a little bit disapointed by Hollywood V1.0 (no GUI, rather slow).
The designer is a VEY good idea :-). Sad there is no demo to test.

Keep going.

Bye

A demo would really nice, and would most certainly improve sales (assuming the the demo isn't cracked).

That's why he isn't doing one.

It really beggars belief that, in this day and age, with the Amiga market the way it is, some people are still willing to pirate Amiga software. These people are the lowest of the low.

Think again. The full version can be cracked and he has to make those. But a demo that has relevant code removed can never be cracked: the code was never in it to begin with, so what is there to crack? Let him remove the save code, for example. Obviously, you don't want to release a time-limited demo, those can be cracked.

Hmm.. I was wondering does this program allow user "only" create slideshows and such..? I didn't see script-editor window anywhere on screenshots.. I've understood that hollywood has quite powerful scripting language which allows to create more complicated stuff than slideshows and screenwipes.
It would be great to edit scripts in realtime and see results in other window (something like macromedia Dreamweaver on windoze comes first in mind)

keep up the good work!

What someone should do is code a Hollywood plugin for Amiga browsers :)

I wonder if that would be feasible. Any Comments?
