It runs TAO's intent, not AmigaDE.

Deleting this thread would be a good idea imho. Or we could bash Amiga Inc. for a change ;-)

AmigaDE has fallen so far behind, that at this point, they will never have any costomers. If nothing is done, they are doomed to (continued) failure.

It would be a good start if we could actually download any of the AmigaDE software and run it on a WinCE PDA instead of just a desktop PC. Other than a couple of game packs this is unfortunately still not possible.

It always mystified me as to why the run-time engines were never released for Windows CE/PocketPC. Yet - I thought that was the whole point.

I think that was NOT the whole point.

As in, the platform runs anywhere. If it runs in your 200x320 pixel box on a
Windows desktop, it'll run the same on your PDA. As such, why release runtimes
when all you need is a Windows box?

Amiga's fumble was not updating to intent 2.0 when Tao released it, as they
are now 18 months to 2 years behind on doing that, plus they never finished
all the cool features they promised to add to even intent 1.0 (which is
nothing more than a glorified way to port a JVM really quickly).

I don't think giving you a Windows CE version of the "Player" would have
done them much good.

It would have given me an incentive to buy some DE software as I could have played it on my PDA. Seeing as the majority (all?) of the software is for PDAs it could have had a very positive effect. I suppose it doesn't really matter now.
