HERE "On Wednesday, Luxembourg-based Genesi Sarl said its forthcoming Pegasos computer will be based on Motorola's new G4 processor. The hardware platform will use a version of Linux called MorphOS and will be able to run Macintosh software in emulation, according to the company's Web site."

In reply to Comment 1 (Bodie):
Especially considering HERE, where MorphOS is listed on Motorola's website, ironically the only OS listed so far as working on that model of G4. Note the "MorphOS is not unix based". ;)

I guess any publicity is good publicity but someone should correct those fools :-)

"..The hardware platform will use a version of Linux called MorphOS and will be able to run Macintosh software in emulation, according to the company's Web site."

Atleast they didn't write "a version of AmigaOS called Morphos" ;-)

I doubt they would even know what AmigaOS is. ;)

No thanks to anonymous trolls and key members of the OS4 group who would rather post stupid comments and keep the FUD going instead of promoting OS4 to the world. OS4 will NEVER be sucessful to the world if this keeps up! ;)

Exactly, everyone you tell about Amiga these days will tell you that it is a DEAD system. Not because they want to troll you, no they say this because they don't know it better. They actually have a prejudice on Amiga because a lot of these people used to be former Amigan's. They will tell you that it was a nice time but things have changed.

It looks different when you tell them about MorphOS and PowerPC, their first question would be what it is, then you show them some cool screenshots, the screenshots of the Pegasos Motherboard and then after they got their pants wet tell them that this is the future of Amiga solutions.

Amusing how Genesi also encourages people to break the end-user agreement for MacOS by running it on non-Apple hardware. You can get away with this in some countries, but not all...

Oh is that right? At the MicroMart show at ther NEC we had loads of "non Amigans" coming up to us and being totally impressed with OS4, most were using some form of Windows and were totally fed up with it. Many were ex Amigans that were now considering coming back, despite the relative higher costs of an AmigaOne!

In reply to Comment 16 (samface):
Bill McEwen made an Agreement he did not keep. A judical process started. A time schedule was set up. Amiga Inc had legal representation for quite a long time, and *had every chance* to defend themselves through their attorneys, but Bill McEwen coose a delay tactics and tried to stall the process instead. Time ran out. The attorneys left (for whatever reason). The Judge gave Amiga Inc extended time, *far beyond* what was reasonable if you ask me, the judge practically bent over backwards in Amiga Inc's favor. But somewhere one has to draw a line, and this is supported (or demanded) in the legal system. Everything has been played by the books, and Bill McEwen could have played it differently in the beginning when they had legal representation. Amiga Inc put themselves in this situation. Give it a rest now!

Well... Journalists are supposed to know how to write articles... Maybe they should learn how to READ articles as well ;)
