Has anyone here used Gentoo on a Peg or A1 yet? I'd love to hear about it!

This is for sure a nice initiative that benefits all the PPC users. Certainly something I will buy for both the A1 and classic Amiga.

In reply to Comment 2 (T_Bone):
jupp, Gentoo is working very nice here on my Peg 1.
Seems to be slightly faster then my previous debian install.
But to compile first everything you need, is very timeintensive ;-)
So be prepared for a few days just compiling (KDE 3.2 took about 2 Days or so)

The APUS kernel is fairly up-to-date (its 2.4 series at least).. So there shouldn't be a problem with bootstrapping most current distro's, although I think Debian is what most people choose to use; Unstable runs quite nicely :)

Sigh... I've just installed Gentoo on my PC (athlon xp 2.6k, an entry level in those days...) and KDE 3.2 downloaded & compiled in 6 hours... It's really a nice distribution, its model is years ahead of monolithic distributions like redhat or mandrake, so I suggest every amigaone/pegasos linux user to try that, expecially if they want G4 optimized software :)
