No its not the next "monthly news update" but a small notice about:
A Status Update is overdue, we know that already, no need to remind us ;-) In the meantime, let me announce an important fact: thanks to Paolo Besser, this month's edition of the best selling Italian PC game magazine, TGM, is shipping with a copy of AROS on its DVD, a review of AROS and a full blown tutorial which will guide you trough the process of installing AROS on an hard disk.

To paraprhasing the words of Armstrong on the Moon...

It is both a big step for the Aros,

AND

for the Amiga to be acknowledged as an still existing system,

usable on many platform, and not only usable, but also useful...

And that the concepts it leads:

- Powerful OS with semplicity of design, elegance in coding, multitasking, management and GUI, armonized structures and MAINLY still evolving,

- Compact code in kernel and programs,

- And over any other thing, in being an OS which leaves (with its semplicity) the user to control the computer and not vice-versa...

i.e. the computer (or the OS) which control the user...

BTW, AROS was also shipping with the Suse 9.0 linux distribution.

This will be a good test of the acceptance of AROS. If people notice it, then AROS will go places. If it is totally ignored, then that will probably be its permanent future.

You got to be kidding? =Q this is ONE mag! AROS isnt even close to 1.0 rel + this is a mag for PC GAMERS! :Q.

Sure it is... so I bet not so much on it...

But even the fact it released with SUSE 9.0 it is a sure bonus.

BTW I will buy that italian PC (and consoles) Games Magazine which I didn't buy from anymore a looong looong time only for the fact it has AROS on it.

(And I think I will buy the next issue also to check mail from readers...)

I wonder which version must I buy... the one with 3 CDs or the other with DVD...???

Mah...

However I will signal this fact to all amigans and former amigans here in Italy I know...
