Right as you can see the lockup probs got fixed. This has NOTHING to do with DMA stuff which the A1 is having trouble with due to the nice ArticiaS feature.

Certain IDE device configurations caused MorphOS IDE driver to rarely lock up. This has been fixed now, all 4 IDE slots can be safely used now.

This is not related to DMA issues on April-less Pegasos I, or other Articia based hardware.

I hate you ;) I hope you are not a modem user. Four modem users and the Pegasos community will be locked out for days.

Let me clarify some of the fixes for non-MOS users, as I understand them.

- The IDE lockup bug has been fixed.

This occured on SOME systems and would halt the IDE. The computer would still be running but a reboot would be necessary. It happened in conjunction with high CPU use and IDE use at the same time, and some users avoided it by using weird IDE setups or using one IDE channel only. Many users didn't have it at all regardless of setup. This being fixed is really, REALLY good news for us people who were prone to it. We can safely burn CDs again (in a about 1 min 30 seconds :))

Note that this had nothing to do with Articia, it was a VIA bug.

- Real Time Clock load and save problems on Pegasos 2 have been fixed.
- The system clock no longer drifts on Pegasos 2.

Self-explanatory, but annoying.

- The Exec MEMF_REVERSE memory fragmentation bug has been fixed.

This caused MOS to slow down somewhat after some 10 hours uptime, more than fragmentation on an Amigalike system would usually do. Contrary to red troll belief, MOS is not unstable by any means and I've had it running for more than 3 days while in almost constant use with IBrowse, mldonkey, amirc, Heretic2, Freespace, and whatever else I can throw at it. It's stabler than my Amiga.

"4 users download limit"

That must be one monster of an connection/server ... They must be spending some serious mojo to make sure their users can get important updates as quickly as possible.

Makes kernel.org look like a piss in the ocean ;)

No sense humour, good ol' ...

Why not use a bittorrent if bandwidth is tight? you can lock it down so that only people with the right to download it can, and I can webseed at around 400k/sec if you wanted ;)

There has been several persons who has offered to host a mirror ftp, which could have speeded up things and let people easilly to access the files, but no, there aren't any interest of that.
