A quick notice to say that AROS got its first accelerated 2d driver, for NVIDIA-based cards. It's successfully been tested on TNT2, Geforce2/4 and nForce based cards, but it should work on many other variants. You're all invited to check it out and report any problems you may find. Head to the download page on the AROS site to get a copy of the the latest nightly build.

Please, moderator, modify that strong tag to the b tag...

Also, people, notice that AROS will open a 640x480 screen when using the nvidia driver right now, and unfortunately there's no way to change that other than recompiling AROS, at the moment. Apps can still open their own screens at whatever resolution, it's just a problem that afflicts the default screen size for the WB.

Sigh. nVidia make noisy, hot cards for gamers, not exactly da bomb for an Amigalike OS as yet limited to 2D. I suppose its good for dual boots though.

I don’t recall my Albatron Geforce FX 5900 PV equaling the noise generation as the Reference FX 5800 Ultra...
