In case someone is interested in a bunch of AROS to MorphOS compiles then get a look at this LHA archive (1.2mb). It includes various AROS demos, games, utilities, sources and makefiles. Also included is that beautiful AROS screenblanker that I ported over from AROS to MorphOS in case someone likes it (I heard positive feedback from people already). Furthermore a new version of HTML Tidy got included (including MorphOS system tag, sources and makefile). This archive is subject to be updated every now and then. I am aware that some of the demos got ported before.

greetings,

oGALAXYo

Hi Galaxy

Some very cool stuff you've compiled there! :)

Any chance of a compile of those demos and screenblanker
to m68k (OS 3.1+)? Users of UAE and Amithlon surely have
enough speed to run them.

Especially the AROS demos would be awesome to run
on Amithlon :).

Grab GeekGadgets install it and then simply dive into each dir and enter 'make'. this should generate an 68k version of these things. Fabio also has a 68k binary of the Blanker, maybe he can put it online somewhere.

Oh, the title... I tried to find the typo in the message, not in the title. That explains it :-)

Nicely done, would be great if everyone followed you last(?) post regarding how amiga development should work. We don't have that many apps for our OSes so to have what actually exists on all of them is a very good step.
But as I see it Amiga Inc. had some ideas for AmigaOS, even thought they might have gone after the developers they knew what it was. After the KMOS interview it looks more like the KMOS owner just tried to convince some companies he did something great (it's in the text and if he said it himself it's probably true..), and then tried to find some fun stuff he could buy just to have them, sort of. So I don't expect that much from that part :(
Genesi I don't know, seems they have had some troubles lately, the last half year or so? In my dreams and whishes there whould have been a huge demand for the pegasos but noone could get if because only 600 was sold, but all kinds of people whould have been after the pegasos2 and they whould have sold a lot, but it doesn't seem that was the result. Troubles with getting enough of them out in stores then needed and stuff.
With AROS it's another situation, I don't know how good the OS is but it's probably good enough for beeing an AmigaOS, it runs on x86 hardware so you don't have to spend a huge amount of money to use it, and average joe can get his hands on it and try it out. Their only problem beeing software, if anyone is developing anything for any of the AmigaOSes it should be AROS because it's got the greatest potential and there is no way it will fail. AmigaOS development can get canceled, Genesi can run out of money, but someone will always want their gold old amiga days back.

I wish them all the best of luck, but please think about it, everyone got an x86, everyone can get AROS, so if you are coding something please make it available for them aswell. In any case just to make sure you have a backup path if the product you where coding for in the first place stops to exists.
Another cool thing would probably be if Genesi made their q-box and let it work just as good on x86 hardware aswell, so we had a-box on ppc(m68k and ppc), a-box on x86 (only m68k emulated), q-box for both ppc and x86.. and then an aros-box ;D. But I guess that is hopeing to much. :)

Ah, this reminds me how intelligent the Amiga community actually is, in a post there you can't fight against each other because of whatever AmigaOS version you run you instead use 80% of the comments for argueing about a lost charecter in the title. Weird, weird indeed.

I have just tested this and I can not confirm this. Neither by running it through SHELL nor through double click. Make sure you have the datafiles in your directory as well .mid and .sfx etc.

Best is you simply copy the entire Bomberman dir to RAM: or something and try again.

Some demos like the fireworks etc are quite easy to adapt, there's no need to do modifications, usually defining an aros type etc... at least with stormc

@Galaxy:

lots of thanks for using our beloved lha ;-)

Can anyone explain to me why lha was/is so popular? gzip and zip made much smaller files, althought was very slow.

For beeing an amiga-format wasn't lzx better?
