Showshape is little program which can display small graphics on Workbench using transparency. You can create various elements with different forms and move them around. Think about Christmas trees, boingballs, round edges for your Workbench Screen, ann.lu logo, Bill Gates head, Speedy Gonzales and a lot more. It's real fun! It comes with nice examples.
It's downloadable from http://ultragelb.com/shapeshow.lha

ShowShape 1.0 released : Comment 6 of 12 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 18-Apr-2004 17:14 GMT | In reply to Comment 5 (XraalE): "Works here". I love that sentence. Someone says a program isn't running properly on his setup (which 99% of the time means there's a bug in it), and someone (usually the guy who wrote the program, or a friend of his) just says "Works here", somehow implying that the guy who found the bug is somehow at fault. Ranks right up there with "the source is available, why don't YOU fix it?" |

ShowShape 1.0 released : Comment 8 of 12 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 18-Apr-2004 17:41 GMT | In reply to Comment 7 (itix): That's immaterial. Someone says he's go trouble running a program, and the kneejerk reaction is "Works here". Sorry, but that doesn't cut it. Do you want to know how many times I've contacted shareware writers with a bug report and all I get back is "Works here", followed by "it's probably a driver problem" or "have you tried reinstalling Windows?" |

Posted by Leif on 18-Apr-2004 18:23 GMT | Whatever the problem is, the solution is always to uninstall windows :) |

ShowShape 1.0 released : Comment 12 of 12 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 18-Apr-2004 21:55 GMT | In reply to Comment 10 (itix): Correct, but in that case the proper answer would be "can you tell me your system configuration", or better yet "here's a program. Run it and mail me back the text file that it creates". "Works here" is just an arrogant cop-out from a lazy developer who only cares about putting in new features and not about making his users happy. I wonder why this tends to happen mostly in Windows shareware ;) |
