Looks nice, but what is the point of this? A replacement of amiga.com?

That could be needed at some point, as Amiga Inc are no longer involved with the Amiga, and Hyperion and Eyetech are both bad at keeping their web sites up to date.

Nice layout, hope it goes well.

Just trying to put all those morphos-ports off the mainscreen? :-)

Nice site, with a couple of screenshots I hadn't seen before showing that Hyperion have now got some decent spacing in the GUI, making it look a lot cleaner and uncluttered.

Shame about the icons though, but they should be updated for 4.1 or 4.2 whenever that comes out.

In reply to the miserable anonymous person: It's always nice to have a site that isn't affiliated with anyone as well, and if someone wants to do such a site, they are welcome to do it - it is their decision after all. It looks like it could become a useful resource once more stuff gets on there. Especially as Hyperion and Eyetech aren't updating their websites that regularly and probably won't include half the stuff that this site will eventually have.

In reply to Comment 3 (Don Cox):
Well, this can be confusing! :)

Hyperion's OS4 inherited the "Amiga OS" title from TAO's Intent.
Anyone interested in AmigaOS but unfamiliar with "Hyperion", "Itec" or
"KMOS" would consider amiga.com as their primary and natural choice
for information. But Amiga Inc has nothing to do with "Amiga OS", and
it will not be covered on the amiga.com website, but on
IntuitionBase.com? :)

Perhaps Hyperions OS4 should be dubbed "IntuitionBaseOS" or
"AmigaWorldOS" or similar instead? ;)

This perhaps follows the same logic of rebranding the "A1 lite"
(a quite suitable name IMHO) to "Micro A1", when there is a "Micro
ATX" A1/Teron coming around the corner! What will that be called?
"Mini A1", as in "Mini ITX"? ;)

Nah, just teasing ya, I like the layout on the site and all. Great
work. It even looks OK in Amiga browsers.

:)

from the outset it was made to look as identical as possible in all browsers including Ibrowse, Aweb doesnt like it though, but thats down to Awebs poor table support I think.

Don't get me started about the retarded naming of the upcoming Eyetech AmigaOne hardware. MicroA1 or whatever it is is a bad name. MiniAOne, MiniOne, AmigaMini, AmigaITX, AmiTX ... these are all way better in my opinion. I like the last one, heh - I'll even let them use it for free!

I'm very impressed Ryu!

This could be a number one site for for AmigaOne/AmigaOS4.X people both newcomers and pro's.

At the moment I guess it's up to all the people geting the prerelease to make it a success. If the site initially get alot of inputs I am sure it will become one of the most important Amiga sites.

Thanks Ryu!

You don't need to escape spaces when you put the entire string in quotes.

Funny that you should mention it... I was thinking the same when I saw the number of new MorphOS ports, "just trying to get the AmigaOS 4 news off the mainscreen".

I guess things work both ways :-)

Hey Ryu,

Looks GREAT, nice work guys, the best info i have seen yet!!!

I dont mean to be negative or anything, however how will this site compete with the Offical OS4 site that Hyperion are putting up? I have a feeling its the PowerAmigaSite that Fleecy has been taking about.

"not the only person that thought that."

Same here. But I'm pretty sure that it's not a officially planned strategic/conspiracy/whatever move...

Separate news item could have been posted per every AOS4 SW module/library/etc... ;)

Different strategy when announcing new official AOS4 site then? :)

Ya... but do I have to pay $100/year for SDK news access and a *free* (cough... we forgot printing them cost money...cough) T-shirt. This community is slower than molasses. Nice site RYU. Hopefully the content will kick on the weakness of current resources.
