Sigbjørn Skjæret (CISC) just released another version of VCDGear for MorphOS. This program allows you to extract MPEG-Streams from CD's, fix MPEG files, convert files and many more. Further information and the download link can be found on the Homepage.

..that's not strictly correct .. VCDGear doesn't have any means to extract from CDs themselves, but rather it works on imagefiles, like bin/cue, dat, etc...

Posted by Joe on 20-Apr-2004 10:14 GMT | In reply to Comment 1 (Sigbjørn Skjæret): I wonder what DAT2MPG does? yes thats correct it converts the .DAT file on a VCD back to a MPEG file. so it does infact rip from cd so stop misleading people. |

Posted by Alfred Schwarz on 20-Apr-2004 10:22 GMT | In reply to Comment 2 (Joe): There are no .dat files on VCDs, at least the .dat files you see are not really there; read the documents about how the VCD standard works.
For VCDGear you need to extract the MPEG-Data either with a tool or a CD filesystem that supports reading the not-so-real-dat-files. VCDGear itself does nothing to the disk.
