The Amiga version of SongPlayer 1.62 is available now here. The CDDA management will be improved but you will find a new tag editor for that. The CPU consumption comes back to a low level and a great improvement is the better mp3 support (still no vorbis at the moment). Another version allows you to use SongPlayer without any hardware hit (full AHI and no filter access). It is well oriented to be used with Amithlon and OS4 under emulation.

OGG support is 100% working in MOS version.. has somebody measured how much it would/could eat cpu if enabled as ppc/68k in SongPlayer?

Seems like we have more and more of OGG file around, though MP3 still seems dominating like Schumacher in F1 =)

Cool; Songplayer was always a favourite app. Shame I've had to go over to Linux and XMMS now :-/ Still, when I can actually get a version of UAE working it'll be useful.

Surely it would work under UAE/Amithlon without overloading the CPU?

Lets all think about the 10th year of Ayrton Senna's death, this race. Button is in pole position, lets also hope a Brit wins for a change :)

RIP Ayrton - you were the greatest driver to ever grace F1

Steve

thanks all !Ogg Vorbis is not supported in this 68k version because the CPU consumption is too high, even under emulation at the moment. I have to look at it again and see where are the slowdowns.

In reply to Comment 6 (corto):
OggVorbis decoding requieres less CPU processing power than MP3 decoding (using mpega.library mad).
