It would perhaps be an idea to name the file proper? right now nobody would know that it is infact an LZX file.

Dont be silly the file was just named "DigiBoosterDemoBETA" without the .lha extension! that you now whent in and fixed it and are trying to deny it says a lot about you.

First of all it's nice that a beta is finaly available. This new version however is completly unstable on a Pegasos (crashes when you start playing, crashed when loading modules, etc). What's worse is that things that worked fine in old version I use here cause problems in the new one (there are some new gui refresh problems, for example the "how to register" window trashes DBPro's main gui). None of the gui hacks were removed (fake cycle gads in config window as an example). Makes you wonder if this really is a new version ;)

Guess I'll have to stick to the good old 68k one patched not to poke custom amiga registers for now :)

What have i say? i know my english is bad... but i think everybody (who like) understand me.

I say that the demo are a lha file and not a lzx file... and is this true?

and no, the file have on the server not the wrong name. the download link was wrong (without .lha) but (i dont know why) the link work and load the file and the browser rename the file to without .lha

Maybe DBPro then does not understand version numbers higher than V39 or V40 :)

Must be horribly broken if it thinks 4.0 isn't higher than 2.0

Yes, I know it works on the version.revision integer pairs or something, but I still think 50 is higher than 37...

More likely some required resource is missing, version checks don't cause pbs on MOS (also v50).

Welcome to the wonderful world of HTTP.

If I have, say, 3 pictures, all with the same name/content, but with different extension/encoding.

For instance pic.png, pic.gif and pic.bmp
I make a link to img src=pic

Your browser supports bmp, but not gif or png (I know, stupid idea). You would then send an HTTP request saying something like this:
Hi, I'm so-and-so, accepting file formats "bmp", priority 1, and I want the file named "pic".
Another browser supports png and gif, but prefers the former. It would send this request:
Hi, I'm so-and-so, accepting file formats "png", priority 0.75, "gif", priority 0.25, and I want the file named "pic".

You would end up looking at the bmp, while the other dude would end up looking at the png. Completely automatic. :-)

In which case the error message is horribly broken. If a resource is missing, say which resource.

Critical error (and if you don't know why, I am CERTAINLY not going to tell you).

Tried the demo very briefly.
Lots of refresh problems, especially in CONFIG menu. I managed to load and play a module of mine... but afterwards I couldn't quit the program.

This is of no use at all atm, a lot of work needs to be done. A lot.

Good evening everyone.

Please do not argue about little things like lha, lzx or anything else !! :)

This demo is to show, that the development of DBPro continues, that is nevertheless the most important thing!
This public beta demo version can be tested from everyone.
I'll hope you'll report your experiences under AmigaOS, MorphOs, Amithlon or WinUAE :) @ http://www.digiboosterpro.de

Thanks

Well, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to release a demo then, rather
some screenshots or so could have been released. Because now you will
get negative feedbacks because it's buggy, and people will keep
thinking it is buggy even if you fix the problems.

Anyway, keep up the work and do fix the bugs.. we need a working
tracker. :-)

Well, as i said. This demo is a proof, that developing is continue.
unfortunately with bugs...

I'll report this things to our programmer.

Anyone can do a screenshot, a working (or working-ish) program is a lot more work.

Anyway, good to see it's in progress :-)

Yes, I do have one. To make one you just have to download a disassembler like InGO and fix amiga custom registers accesses (just commenting out the lines should be enough).

@Jacek Piszczek

I'm afraid my 1337 h4cking skillz is insufficient to make such patched version myself (I rather make music than disassemble binaries :))), but i'll try.. Any chance of getting some help?

This is great, been waiting for this for awhile. I haven't tried the demo and maybe never will, but when the actual stable tracker comes, I sure buy it. In the mean time v.2.21 is still good for me :)
