The background picture?

It is nice. Other than that, I would not like to rate MOS1.5 by just looking those (hairy) pictures.

Otherwise those pictures serve their purpose very well.

Fully skinnable, like 1.4 (probably more so) and dunno

> does mos have dvd graphics card decoding in 1.5?

Dunno, never had a GFX card that supports dvd decoding in any machine I ever had, anyway.

Dunno.

Yes.

Why? I have MorphOS 1.4, so I'm quite familiar with the technical side and can afford to judge by looks :) The new background looks very nice. Of course, it could be one user's preferences and not the official 1.5 look. Btw, I mean this picture: http://amiga2k.math.uni.lodz.pl/am2004/P5150938.html

No, saying e.g. "there is no dock in 1.5" (if this is not true) would be FUD, and many would add that it'd only be FUD if cheesegrate sold a competing product and used his statements to indirectly promote his own stuff.

Looks like honest and relevant questions to me, and questions are usually the first step in curing "complete ignorance". ;)

have heard on mos irc that usb hard drives were not supported.

>> is there a dock in 1.5?

does the dock support animation, ie normal magnification and program alert
does the dock allow dropfolders?
does the dock show indicators for shortcuts that are already running, and can one access already opened programs with these shortcuts?
does the dock support plugins, for instance being able to control amigaamp or mplayer from the dock.?

this is what i meant with my 'widgets objects' plugin question for ambient, say the asbility to place a windowless large animated clock on your desktop

Yeah, I got what you meant but I really don't know. We'll know, once MOS 1.5 is out. :-)

> say the asbility to place a windowless large animated clock on your desktop

I think that I saw that one in one of the photos, other than that I don't know.

Other than that, funky window shapes and transparency are supported.

Actually, 3D stuff ARE there for almost a year. OpenGL wasn't.
There are Voodoo3 Rave3D drivers in MorphOS 1.4.
Rave3D is being used as a driver API for the Warp3D wrapper, TiniGL and OpenGL.
In 1.4 there was just the wrapper.

MorphOS 1.5 is not here yet either, it's obviously a work in progress, and speaking about what features are included until it's here is kind of pointless IMO. You will see when it's released.
;-)

But it has been promised that a native TCP/IP stack would be included (actually it was originally scheduled for the 1.4 release already), so I wouldn't recommend releaseing MorphOS 1.5 without it!

That crashy emu is much more stable than my original.

"noone knows.. it's top secret ;)"
i realy wonder why they're keeping features and progresses under silence,
what does they fear?
why noone knows what's really scheduled for mos1.5?"

It's so secret, that the current beta of MorphOS 1.5 has just been demonstrated at this event, if you missed it in the news item.

"and opengl, it's there too? how it is? why we don't have screenshots?"

As you could notice a few news items ago there was an announcement regarding sdl.innoidea.hu. There are many OpenGL accelerated ports there, so that's far it is now. Or a little bit farther :)

"how stable is it? morphos1.4 had serious memory bugs and stability issues are they corected now?"

What do you mean by "serious" memory bugs and "stability issues"? The memory fragmentation bug which was already fixed in 1.4.2?
